I'm just saying, when you're a full time DJ traveling the world and going from club to club, it's not easy to be vigilant, especially if the environment is comfortable and there are a lot of friends around, easy to let your guard down, and it only takes a moment...

are there tracking programs you can load on your computer to catch a thief in a situation like this? |

There probably are, but maybe a keylogger in case there isnt. You could use it, in case anyone who comes up with the laptop uses the laptop for their own personal use, you can get info like their screenames or emails they log into while using your laptop, and then track them down through isp's and correspondance with the FBI or police perhaps. |
