yeah, i keep hearing about issues but i think its normally a case of "user error" (or pirates). i keep a tight and tidy ship and never experience game-breaking issues in any game i buy.
as far as the game goes, you know me, i just want a cool story. |

Unability to save the game or use the galaxy map is a know issue for pirated versions of this game. So you should be fine, since as far as i know only these two issues make the game unplayable.
Havent picked up my copy yet, i have mine preordered, but i have been far too busy for the past several days to go pick it up. Hope they didn't sell it yet, since apparently the game has been completely sold out. |

perfectly. needed to update my video drivers and muck around with my onboard audio settings, but nothing too strenuous. just finishing playing for about 6 hrs straight, and not a single issue.
other than the weird facial shadows during conversations sometimes. edit: to fix that you need to alter the ini file. no stress. |

| Good to know. Was just talking to my friend who is running it as well, and he did not have any issues either. I won't be installing mine until I come back from vacation, I just can't wait for it :) |

I picked up my copy today, and the only reason why im writing this now, instead of playing this awesome game is taht my computer just crashed :D Damn protean ruin at the bottom of a mine!
Two somplaints so far. One is the handling of the bug, and the second is that checking the stats of your team (and thus selecting a correct one for the mission) is unnecessarily complicated. |

so, finished the game after 4 days of constant play. no further issues at all. 2 crashes for 20+ hours of gameplay is pretty good in my book.
for anyone having technical difficulties i suggest reviewing your own hardware before blaming the game. |

Same here, finished the game yesterday, and i have experienced three. maybe four crashes at most. Not that many considering my box inunder quite a load at all times. So stability wise i have no complaints (though i have heard a few people complaining about issues on 64bit win xp and vista systems).
Content wise...well honestly some things could be done better. The main quest is done really well, but all the sidequests leave much to be desired. For starters they are all the same. You start on some randomly generated terrain (seriously, add some noise to a picture in some graphics program and you get a hightmap with the same level of detail we see in the game, they weren't trying here), you drive around for a bit there until you reach one of the two possible buildings which are always the same outside and inside (ok so the crates might be positioned a little differently inside but the general layout is always the same), you shoot something and mission complete. Oh i almost forget you can also enter some mine shafts, which are again...always exactly the same. One would expect that at lest mine shafts would differ from each other a bit. Nope.
That is all from the top of my head, its not that i didn't enjoy the side quests (i completed all but the UNC collecting quests, though they do start getting tedious after a while) but they do spoil the overall experience a bit. Not that much though, as im starting my second play trough today. First time my Shepard was a paragon, im going for homicidal renegade now:cool: |

yeah, it definitely felt like the console game it was in some areas. i still cant get over how bad some of the terrain textures were. but i really enjoyed the narrative which is the main thing i am looking for in an RPG.
yeah, played thru as a male vanguard paragon, just started as a female soldier renegade. at least til grid finishes downloading. direct2drive is giving me the s :/ |

sounds fun, i'll play it one day :D
are the sidequests different in that you have to find something in particular each time or kill some bad guy? or are you just well going there for the hell of it? |
