with this new fad skateboarders/BMXers have of taping themselves riding around all the time?

Whenever I see these tools skating together now, one of them will have a camera rivalling that of CityTV, taping themselves doing "cool" stunts like ollieing onto a 1-foot ledge or failing to grind a rail. Is this just another avenue of their desperate attention-seeking efforts, or is there some huge database of ty skater videos out there somewhere?

the best way to improve is by taping urself. u get to realize where ur mistakes are and what your doing wrong.

Yea, this is nothing new at all. Taping is a huge part of that culture.....it's super fun to do as well. It follows the same principles as any other sport I guess...

I can see your point, but why choose public places to do it? I don't hang around in skate parks, so I can't confirm your theory that they're filled with tons of skaters filming themselves all the time.

One peculiar thing I've noticed (and perhaps I should have mentioned this in my first post) as I was watching a group of these young shirtless lads doing their thing is that they don't tape themselves doing things they can do - they tape themselves practising things they can't.

For example, one will do practice runs with another guy taping him as he rode down, did a kickflip, ollied over a rail, and then tried to grind that rail, which is where he repeatedly failed. They kept doing this run over and over, and while we were there (a hefty time period) they didn't do it right once.

So taking your DJing analogy, I haven't really heard any promo mixes with the DJ continuously ing up. Usually people practise till they can do something right, and then they tape themselves doing it when they learned how to do it.

You don't land things you try all the time. It's essentially impossible to master a trick to the point where you can land it 100% of time in any circumstance (ie. any run or any variation of it). As per location, street skating is alot more marketable over park skating in terms of video's. The majority of professional video's out there are street skating.

Who cares? Let them skate, let them film it and let them wipeout.

Not your problem and not my problem
