Your argument is completely valid dude. No need to argue it. Everyone on here knows that hip hop attracts violence. If you don't know that, you are not listening to the lyrics.

Hip-Hop attracts violence like EDM attracts drugs. Arguments can be made to substantiate both claims, but in the end it's just stereotyping.

I know a lot of 'heads that get offended when Hip-Hop gets grouped in and painted with the same brush as Gangster Rap - Which I will never accept as Hip-Hop. As far as I'm concerned, Gangster Rap is the dumb-, attention seeking sibling to the matured, wiser older Hip-Hop.

That being said, it's pretty (really) wrong to paint anyone who listens to it with that broad stroke of the brush, regardless of the completely asinine actions of some of its brethren.

Regardless, this is pretty ed up. Good thing I don't lip off in traffic!

it's funny because in some posts you're actually kind of articulate (and had me fooled - briefly), but overall it's obvious you're a giant ing waste of internet space.

House music EVENTS, always attract drugs. To deny that is not stereotyping it's telling the truth. Hip Hop events attract violence. Again it's telling the truth. Not painting those who liseten, I am speaking about clubs/events.

I blame GTA IV.

haha, the best series of missions is when you have to take the mafia boss' daughter on a date, kidnap her, knock her out cause she keeps pushing your steering wheel and making the car crash, then take her to a safehouse... then you have to take a picture of her tied up on your cell phone (have to slap her so she looks up at you) and send it to her dad to exchange her for diamonds. how fun would that be

Stereotypes are stereotypes because often they hold some truth.

But that also does not mean that people should make asusmptions before they learn the facts.

and , some of you must think that they play 4 straight hours of ing necro on a hip hop night...

I think some of you are missing the point of an event like this. Rather than laying blame on a type of music or crowd, which you can hardly do quantifiably, try looking at the type of crime this was.

Instead of simple road rage, this some how turned into abduction, which has much more sinister undertones. Instead of just a black eye, now you can look forward to being kidnapped and robbed while confronting another driver. Obviously this is a completely isolated incident, and we do not have any information as to the relationship between the suspects and victim, but it's still a scary thought.

Toronto is a large metropolitan city, which is actually quite safe to live in. Now I do not know if this is just because I am growing older, or because it is actually happening more often, but crimes seem to be escalating in brutality. It seems as if Toronto is maturing, and so are the cities different cultures, good and bad. Reading a story like this makes me think of more elaborate and fictional scripts rather than logical options for the resolution of a fight.

Crime in TO is way down, but violent crime is up. The question: is the severity of the crimes going up as well, or do we just see the more brutal crimes because of the media?
