I used to play RZA- Bobby Digital over and over again... simply an amazing production. GZA- liquid swords, Method Man- Tical, Redman- Darez is a Darkside as well as Muddy Waters, Ghostface- Supreme Clientele and Ironman, Raekwon-Only Built 4 Cuban Linx all get honorable mention.
Seriously though, what happened to the music? The early to mid 90s were a great time for music, in the hip hop world you had Wu, Tribe Called Quest, Nas, and the G funk era, and in the alternative world there was Nirvana, Alice in Chains, Pearl Jam, etc. And the thing was both types of music were listened by all the same people. Seems like something went wrong in the late 90s...music had to be a potential "club hit" for it to get any air. Dang marketers.
A little treat :

Only Ghostface can rap about the same over and over and still sound cool, lol.

OMG!!! I can't believe there's a thread on the WU!!!! I was a HUGE fan of 36 chambers (as i'm sure alot of ppl were)!!! GHOSTFACE KILLAH is by far the greatest Wu member!!! However it comes close to Meth and RZA! As soon as I read the name of the thread, i started chanting "And if you want beef, then bring the ruckus, Wu-Tang Clan ain't nuttin ta with! Straight from the mothering slums that's busted, Wu-Tang Clan ain't nuttin ta with!!" LMAO!!
2 of my fave songs...
this is SUCH a good thread! :toothless

am I the only one that thinks Method Man should have stuck to guest appearances on other peoples tracks?
His albums are all doo doo butter...seemed like he kept his best stuff for other peoples songs.
...love GZA's voice.

There's a sweet remix of that on the Hidden Darts album using Taana Gardner's 'Heartbeat'...probably more recognizable from Ini Kamoze's 'Here Comes the Hotstepper'. Dopeness!

the track that this used, "Cherchez la Femme" was on the Studio 54 soundtrack. i grew up listening to wu, so years later it is always strange to hear the tracks which inspired them

Ah yes that's right..my bad. Couldn't remember the original sample. :)
