I'm adding my new tracks in an Excel database to. I just fill in the artist - song - remix (optional of course) and the number of the cd which I burned it on. (I keep most of my mp3 on CD-s, cuz my hard drive is way too small.
I don't categorize within genre or style. |

Filenames: - (remix info etc...)
They all go into one directory most of the time. Then I burn 'em to CD.
I mainly use tags to find things, though. Make playlists for specific genres or moods. That kind of thing. Check out the Tag Editor/Renamer/Whatever_you_want_it_to_do Program Helium. http://www.helium-mp3.com/helium/ very nice. Find a crack and you're set.
(There's a little bit of a bug when you install and try to create Wizards. Go into the preferences and make sure the settings point to the appropriate directories... they don't by default. And don't try to edit tags for any MP2 files, or anything other than MP3 for that matter!)
Check it out. If you use tags a lot, it'll be worth it!
I'm also trying to get together an Access database to track all my CDs that I've made and make it easier to make lists. Haven't quite gotten around to it yet, but that's the plan.

in my mp3 dir i have "Full Albums & Mix Sets"
and "Singles" in singles its sorted into 2db, bpm, rns, ipz, snd, bmi, etc" i then burn mp3 cds based on group releases :) and you thought you were pathetic, im up to 182 not including video cds |

| I got a folder named MP3s and in the folder I have different genres of music (examples: Rap, Pop, Rock,Techno, etc.) the MP3s are named by Artist- Song. I keep most of my newer stuff unassorted in that MP3 folder so it's easier to get to (I'm lazy) lol. |
