| David West is the opposite way around for me. I couldn't stand half of his proggy crap, but since he hooked up with Ida Engberg, the tech-house/nu-trance style shizzle is really nice and i don't think it can be compared to Ozgur's style... who is another producer for me, who went off the boil after a stellar 2004-5. |

I wish everything would stay the same forever , changing things should be forbidden :( :( :(
There is a reason that all the producers who make the same track over and over are loved with great passion at tranceaddict , they never change and we looooove it !
eh... neh :tongue3 |

| I personally would not mind a producer trying a new style, as long as they stick with what made them successful, isn't that what different aliases are for? ;) |

I used to be a big Rivera fan back in 00-04 but he has went completely downhill in the last few years. This electro sound he is throwing in with his productions and remixes just aren't working. He has butchered alot of great tracks |
He's so few and far between. The last good thing he did was the Dub Mix of Tracking Treasure Down.
Then before that I'd have to go all the way back to 2001 I think for Victoria Beckham and Laid remix. |

You know how it is, we experience something amazing (ie. an awesome track), elevate it to the status of a 'classic', and then view any kind of change as heresy. |

It's true and you can't escape from it I guess...
Quite funny, now I have people wanting me to go back to the 'old pre intuition estuera' days, people wanting me to go back to the castamara / silent waves days , people wanting me to do another fall to pieces, people who never liked my older works but love the new tracks and vise versa etc etc...
That's why I just do my thing , cause if I start trying to please all those people all the time I'll get the biggest writers block in history ;) I just hope some fans will follow the journey with me and that the listeners I loose get replaced by new ones along the way, which seems to be the way it goes. |

David West. Recent productions are heavily Ozgur Can sounding.
Jonas Steur is also another disappointment. Gone are the days of plain and simple melodic trancers. Some of his new "techy/electro" crap is decent but most are rather boring. I hope he doesn't continue this delusion that he is diversifying trance or bending the lines or whatever he wants to call it because I really miss the Silent Waves and Flows. :( |
i guess ur referring to jonas steur's alias evil robot? i dont like it either, its more techno then trance. i like his more trancey stuff. |

It wasn't really a joke, more a crude way of saying that it's impossible to please everybody. If you change your sound you get people who are displeased but if you always use the same formula you also get frowned upon. And yes that is lame but one of those things you can't escape from anymore as a producer since the internet took control of music.
Nothing unprofessional to now and than point this out on a quiet sunday night I think, certainly because my opinion is shared by everyone else in the music industry ;)

And evil robot isn't meant as a trance project, that's why I started the alias in the first place, to release my more tech house / prog / techno sounding tracks. |
