I wouldn't have a problem with rip groups except that many of them seem to do the tiest possible job of ripping. I mean, half the mp3s I've downloaded in the last year sound like they were encoded in 96 kbps, then reencoded at 192 kbps.
I don't really have problem with them wanting to pretend they're l33t or something just because they provide the community with an important service. But if they're going to take that attitude, they ought to be backing it up with some half-decent quality.
There are a couple of groups (which obviously I'm not going to name) who do a pretty consistently good job, and I commend them for that. But there have been far too many horrible quality rips. It's really just becoming ridiculous. |

hi....i feel like i need to speak about this.....and i want to hear ppl's opinions on this issue... *snip* |
heh, surprising, coming from you, but i have to agree.
rip group wars are pathetic.
arbiter: wurd. they rush the release and they sacrifice quality because of it.
i also hate it when groups use something else except IDv3.1 IDv3.2 tags, and i can't edit them with winamp... i really hate it when they don't capitalize words and it shows up in winamp that way... although it's a minor thing, the tune is the most important aspect |

| my take. i used to be in a ripping group but dont do it anymore. i dont know for a fact, but i would say most people around here are leechers. not in a bad sense, but they just get new music and never rip it. you guys hate the ripping groups, but do you realize that if it werent for them, most of you on here wouldnt hear 3/4s of the that gets downloaded. i would say probably 80-90% of the trance mp3s have come from ripping groups and i am sure people have re ripped them. dont go off on how they should share and all this stuff, when you just sit on your asses at the computer and download the songs and complain about why you cant get a certain tune. it isnt always promos taht get released. at least the ripper went out and bought the vinyl, unlike many people in here. and dont give me this, i dont have a turntable, you can get a cheap one for 50 dollars or some like that. but thats just my opinion |

Perhaps you mean they work hard to get that promo... THEY WORK HARD BECAUSE THEY WANT TO! BECAUSE DJING IS THEIR LIFE AND THEY LIVE FROM IT! u ugly ...
of course they don't deserve these . They have lost every sign of dignity they had by being nasty bastards with "youwillnevergetit" tracks...
WAKE UP PEOPLE! SHARE!IT'S TRANCE WHAT WE ARE TALKING ABOUT! |
first of... i really dont wanna start a flaming war with u
but ur poor knowledge just leads u to saying stupid things
listen, it takes alot of work & money to rip, not all rippers just get promo vinyls that easy and rip it, u have to consider the quality of the record.. tagging right.. etc..
not all think DJing is their life.. that just shows how poor ur knowledge is..
second, if you joined a group and ripped im sure i wouldn't be seeing u here right this kinda ugly stuff..
and who da hell are u to call me a u moron... keep ur stupid thoughts to urself.. |

from a legal perspective, its ironic this is a topic of debate.
whether its ripped by a rls group or by some 12 year old kiddie with musicmatch, a law (not necessarily fair law) has been broken. the real case is whether it was organized or not...
sidenote: if i remember correctly, most rls groups, rings, gangs, and other illegal organizations are broken up by various 3-letter goverment agencies when one guy sings like a canary because he/she gets the squeeze. (hint hint)
anyways, i think this thread is pointless. if you're going to break some laws, you might as well as dive into it head-first.
my two bits: share music :D |

Actually the biggest problem is their proclivity to brag about their accomplishments. Interesting how that topic parallels the topic of this thread, isn't it? |

twice mentioned word : "poor knowledge"
you broke a record again! 2k3 is a nice year for you! :D
Thinking this stuff about the DJS, that is not djing is their life, is a way to call all the DJS as clowns or freaks. Get mature, then come back to conversate
p.s. read my "sorry" on page #2 of this thread... |
