OMG Help, What is this??
I just updated to SP2 (yeah, SP2 im lazy).. ANyways, I installed AVGFree as well, and it said that i was infected with three viruses, one of them was ddaya.dll trojan, the others i cant remember, i just pressed the fix-button.

Suddenly my screen went all black, and since the laundry washer in the room besides me was on i didnt hear anything from the computer so i leaned down to restart it, i noticed it was still on and i looked up to the screen, and it was slowly going a gray/white color  :conf:

it was like going gradiently from black to white.. I have a benq 20" widescreen lcd monitor, so i thought maybe it was gonna explode on me so i turned off the computer and screen, to see if it still happened with the computer off. it didnt.

I tried restarting the computer and it was going to white..

Does anybody know what could be the problem?

Specs:
Core 2 Duo 1,6

The best anti-virus anti-spyware program on the market, you can download their trial version to fix the problems you're having now. Worth every penny.

i used to have nod32, but it kept using way too much cpu when it was scanning, so ive been without antivirus for a while :/

ive done some googling, at it seems it might be the monitor over heating.. ill go try the computer out in a while to see if thats the problem..

Why don't you test the monitor with the comp you are posting from ?
La5eR
At times when you install an SP from M$ they update the driver database and that may have been what caused it. During a refresh rate change it isnt advised you reboot your comp or your gfx settings might be fubar. Next time on reboot tap f8 till a screen comes up to boot into safe-mode. Boot into safe-mode with command prompt and then change the res that way to the lowest refresh and resolution as possible. Reboot and you should be able to change it back to normal.

too lazy... anyways, it was just probably that it was overheating.. it was pretty hot in the room, and the desk lamp was pretty close to the screen since i had it tilted towards the computer..

Capitalizt
unplug everything for 10 minutes...press the power button on the front of the computer for a few seconds while it is unplugged to drain the remaining power from it. Plug back in and try again.
