the number of sydney dj;s abandoning "TRANCE" continues to grow.
i say bring bak 98-2000...those years rocked.@!!!!
euro trance, uplifting trance u name it.
everyone played it...now its all hardhouse n breaks house or wat not!!!!!
hmm are there any "Australian" online trance shows?
would be a great idea if we all statred one?
perhaps the bedroom bngers out there [ there are a few on these boards!...incl me!!!] can get somethin like a streaming "OZ TRANCE" show online?
hmmm.
:conf:
but a 100% TRANCE music station will NEVEr happen in sydney...well for @ least a few years!

webmeister - it is definately for real, and we have found a plethora of djs who spin real trance!! we've even got one of the best live trance acts lined up that you will hear in Oz!
We have lots of plans for the night, it will be dirt cheap and is centrally located.
Advertising for the night is due to begin in 2 weeks. I will let everyone know when the site goes live.
I hope everyone is excited by this, because we certainly are!!
cheers

| can one of guys please make a pack that if you ever decide to choose dj'ing as a career that you'll be Australia's answer to not having ferry, tiesto or PvD. This country needs a TRUE trance dj........the benifits would be endless! |

Nope - this is totally unrelated to plastic!
Helen K - An online radio station is one of our pipe dreams, but that is a long while off.

discetelli - the DJ's we have playing are Sydney's answer to PVD, Ferry & Armin!! That is the whole goal of the night - to bring trance properly to Sydney not more of its current incarnations!
cheers

It doesn't even need to be a trance radio station, just one aimed at the club culture in general. It seems like every other cultural demographic has one (in Melbourne) at least, even though the club culture is much bigger than the majority of them. A station like Hitz FM - if it was put on the air permanently - would pick up ratings of about 4-5 easily I'd suggest, and particularly in the demographic of like 16-25 years olds (who generally have a fairly high disposable income - myself excluded :( ) you'd be getting a pretty decent share of the audience if you were an intelligent advertiser. But no: we have a gay/lesbian radio station (why?), about 8 stations playing alternative music (yay), then all these other completely random stations that don't seem to have any common theme at all. Yet, so far as I know, there isn't even a timeslot - on any single frequency - devoted to electronic music, let alone an entire frequency devoted to it.
Although I suppose from a politician's perspective that's okay, because we all know how listening to "doof doof" music leads to drug use and the inevitable decay of society. I mean, there's not even any words, how can anyone listen to that e?
Bah.
I say we all chip in and buy a commercial licence from somewhere. Anyone got a spare $60 million lying around? |

dave b, i just got an email from a dj friend.
Life@Club Evolution (formerly Commercial Lounge) on Sat nights is now playing straight-up trance upstairs. prog trance early, tech-trance later, and a couple of hrs of anthems to close.
This guy's a bona fide melodic DJ, so I'll trust him - he's playing.
I know the venue's a touch commercial (bass station@zos, anyone?), but some trance is better than none at all. :D I'll check it out and report back. |

coolness!, is zos ran by the same people that ran it when it was called chasers?
it would be nice to have a dj spin the new tracks we hear being spun by ferry, armin & tiesto!
look forward to hearing more about it :D |
