Things just get really expensive if you go the mac route, as you start building up plugin's audio interface ect.

My interface costs the same hooked up to a mac as it does hooked up to a pc. And I haven't noticed a difference in price when I select mac or pc when buying plugins.

If you already have a mac, I wouldn't think it'd be cost effective to start over with a pc, Just my $.02

That may be tru for someone who already knows what they want and what there doing.

But for a newb who has no idea which daw or plugin's they would even want to use. It would be more costly going the mac route as there are not nearly the warez available for PC
Honestly it takes me months to decide if EQ x is better than EQ y or if i even lik EQ x at all...
Trying before you buy is essential to determine what you actually want or need IMO.

Not trying to tell bru what to do, just a recomendation.

See thread "I'm having a bad day." Jumping on a pc a rummaging through warez sites wouldn't be my recommendation, but to each his own.

hey

to be honest if I were you id just download a load of stuff of the torrent sites (without paying) and test the stuff out before buying - there is so much choice its guna be impossoble to really know where to start....

But if I had to make a suggestion id go for Fruityloops just cause u can get going so quicklym and has got a load pre installed stuff. I personally think FL is crap (please for the love of god I dont want a debate) but its great as a starter to get an idea of all the basic elements, later on think bout eqing and compressing blah blah

im no Tiesto but ive made music for a long time on various programs (fruity for years) so feel free to add me on msn, or email, pm whatever..... Trust me, getting help of other amateur producers is so helpful (msn= [email protected]_) email [email protected]

Hard Trance?

Tance is the music i love!

Id say start with some decent samples (for drums, loops) as mentioned earlier, get the vengeance sound packs - they are very popular and have a loada good stuff. You can eithe buy them somewhere, or some criminal scum download them from torrent sites. These sociopathic hoodlums use a program called utorrent and than go to torrentpond.com and tap in VENGEANCE CLUB into the search bar, the criminal than downloads the packs (one and two are there, the criminal must ensure he gets both).... also the criminal downloads Vanguard, again from the torrent sites - this is a very powerful VST and is a tiny file, again can be got from these torrentsites - Give us youre email and ill send you a link, just so I can show you what not to do

:D

I'm wondering whether the forum administrators will allow these piracy guidelines to remain in this thread...if so, let's turn tranceaddict forums into the official trance torrents and warez forum and try to ensure that the companies and individuals making these excellent samples and synths don't get paid for their work... they should all be working at Fast Food restaurants instead...

Hey, Im just letting peeps know how its done, whether they want to actually do it is not for me or anybody else to judge or say... Its a choice people can make if they want, and they should know its illegal and can put them in prison (unlikely).... Im not denying the fact the people who make this stuff are bloody talented....

Back to topic -

Nice one with the logic, as said before Id start with some loops and a couple of simple VSTs (virtual synthesizers) to get you started, than you can play around and through time will pick up all the other skills youll need... I wouldnt fork out hundreds on the hardware yet, until you know what it is you want - of course, if youve got plenty of money, than feel free to do this :whip: but people like me on low wages havent got this option

Companies are more than compensated by Eduction, Commercial and Professionals who are making money producing.

Amatures who are learning how to produce using warez is not hurting software companies in the slightest IMO

Get over yourself dude...
