Ear Plugs...

The zabs thread talking about the db meter has some people asking where to get custom plugs. Go to your audiologist at your ear, nose and throat doc and you can get hooked up. Expect to spend about $100+ for the custom plugs but trust me... that are worth it.

Basic plugs:

Custom Hi-Fidelity plugs that I personally wear (-15db) and are worth every penny:

The earpiece of choice for performing musicians and concert attendees, the style 49 is also a great option for anyone who needs to hear accurately in high noise environments. Popular with music teachers, DJs, flight attendants, bartenders, waitresses, dentists and dental workers, the style 49 is a canal-style earplug that is virtually unnoticeable. The flat attenuation characteristics allow the wearer to hear accurately - but at a safer volume. Can be ordered with a choice of either 9, 15, or 25 dB filters.

I wish I could afford the custom ones now but I just can't. At least their standard plugs are cheap for the time being.

Thanks SENECA. :p

140....best 140 I've spent on anything music related...my ears never get tired in a club and I even wear them when I'm dj'ing...

good to hear they have had such a possitive return on investment for you and seneca. i have been doing a little research on this topic recently but still cant seem to grasp the concept of djing with ear plugs in haha. was this hard to get used too? or did you find it more comfortable than not using earplugs?

I used the westones for a few years and thought they were decent. Over the last 9 or so years I have definitely noticed a decent amount of hearing loss from playing and being out. For you younger cats these are a must have. Do it not before you lose any of your hearing. I have been meaning to pick up another pair and would like to get custom ones but I lose them too often. I take them out to talk to people sometimes (because I’m deaf and can't hear as well with them in) and end up losing them. I had a cheap pair at DEMF this year that I used all throughout the day and it was so nice to be able to hear while playing late at night and after coming home.
peteone
yea dont wear them and ----

IT'S ALL GONE PETE TONG
