Ecuador or Brazil? (pg. 3)

Hey
I've been to Ecuador. Guayaquil and Cuenca. They are really cool cities. If you're after partying Guayaquil is a cool place to visit, but it is dangerous, such as many other capitals in South America. So I advise you to stay inside after sun sets, and only take taxi's everywhere after dark. Also take a proper taxi, not a "cheap looking" one.
Cuenca is a beautiful city in the Andean mountains, their third largest city, it is even on the UNESCO World Heritage cities list, as is their capital Quito. I haven't been to quito, but I hear it's damn good, but dangerous as well.
Make sure you don't act like an idiot, THINK before you go places.
You could also visit the "Orient" which is superior when it comes to Indiana Jones style adventuring...
They speak spanish, so if you know it, it's easier than trying to lean on spanish to try and understand/speak portugese.
I hear great things about Brazil too, so I think you should ask more people than me.
My ex girlfriend was from Ecuador, the best girl I've ever had. |

Sweet!! In that case, I better start trying to convince her that we need to go to Brazil.

| If you go to Brazil check out Pipa, I had some much fun there. Oh and be careful, Lira's dog hates white people:p |

Is there any way I can help you convince her? Hmm... Tell her that Colombia and Ecuador almost went to war earlier this year... should be enough to change her mind :D

:stongue:
She hates tall people in general, actually. But, now that I moved out of my parents' house, that shouldn't be a problem any more :p |

Reason enough to pick Ecuador right there as far as I'm concerned. :p
A close friend of mine from home (kid I grew up with actually) owns a place in Montaņita, absolutely adores it down there. Haven't been, but the place looks beautiful, and the way he describes it makes me want to book a trip right now - though it definitely doesn't sound like a "tourist" destination in the least.
I'll be sure to warn him if you decide on Ecuador. :gsmile: |

| My gf is from Campinas, which is a city outside of Sao Paulo. From what she tells me, it sounds like any other place really. There are good parts of the country and bad parts as well. So I guess like anywhere else you'd want to go, do a little research and pick the place that sounds best for what you want to do! |
