Not really, some stats that I quoted from Rey earlier in the morning:
Celtics:
45 perimeter shots
23 shots in the key
38 free throws
Lakers:
42 perimeter shots
41 shots in the key
10 free throws "

The Lakers might look a bit soft, but stats don't lie

The foul call desparity is only +2/Q in the celtics favor, which is not much

how can you honestly say that the lakers were getting screwed on no calls? Theres greater concern with letting Leon Powe go coast to coast for a dunk...

38 free throws to 10 free throws.....u figure it out

Act of shooting, celtics are slashing, lakers are not.

Celtics D > Lakers D

This has nothing to do with the refs, it goes both ways. Look at game 5 in the Spurs series. Lakers are being outplayed right now, end of story.

I like this guy!

I don't even want to talk about it. Had to go though the agony of defeat twice in that game.
We're in a tough spot now.

+1

It's just hard not to mention or to blame the refs when one team shot 38 free throws and the other one only shot 10... and one player shot even more than the other team itself (Powe's 13 to Lakers 10). This is pro bball, there are reasons why they have coach & assistant coach... they look at stats even during the game...

Well, it's just a sad day in the Lakerland :( :(

Leon Powe also had more dunks that the entire Lakers team, that should also tell you something.

Again, as people have said...look at the stats deeper

I mentioned this during the game when I noticed the free throw difference....my friend, a HUGE lakers fan, just said the Refs have been calling it even both ways just that the Lakers have been called for a lot of shooting fowls while the Celts were on the floor.

He looked up the foul difference and it was only +3 Lakers in the 4th Quarter.

That's nothing.

Get over it.

The Lakers haven't done crap on defense and have looked sloppy quite a bit....and when a defense looks sloppy, they tend to react late and thus get called for a lot of shooting fouls.

20 points or 4 points...Lakers lost. Celts won.

I hate cry babies when there's nothing to really cry about. The foul thing in this case is a complete excuse. A big difference in foul shots for sure, but if you watched the game and just how sloppy the Lakers looked on defense there's nothing to cry about as far as officiating goes. No time during the game did it seem like the refs were out to get one team...fouls were being called both ways. Just the Lakers were getting called for fouls while they played sloppy while the Celts were getting fouls called for being aggressive and getting called for the foul the shooter even can get a shot off...that's the difference. I can name a number of fouls there WEREN'T called both ways.

Neither team is a favorite of mine...I just want a good series and that's where we're getting.

Stop whining. It's funny how Phil Jackson is whining about it a tad but then is saying his team couldn't play any worse...I'm sure he knows it's the team's bad play that led to lopsided foul shots (while close in terms of # of foul calls) and not the refs...but is just using it as a time to get ont he refs back to hopefully get some calls his way in the next game because the refs will be afraid of being under a microscope.

Just how it works.

There are times when looking back at a game it's obvious the REFs have an agenda...but between the calls and the effort put out by both teams....is it really hard to believe the difference? Not really.

I think the problem in this case is that for so many years the Lakers have been getting the calls their way (for reals) and now that it's even just more evened up, WAAHHHHHHHH! WAHHHHHHHHHHH! WAHHHHHHHH!!!

Stop whining. Cry Baby fans remind me of Big Ten or SEC college football fans....whine whine whine.

YOU WANT SOME CHEESE!?

the lakers are being out played right now due to celtic defense, but that doesnt mean end of story.

The refs are so obviously inconsistant that it makes for bad basketball. It takes the flow out of the game entirely, and that favors the team that relys on defense.

And how the hell did abc have a halftime special on powe ready for his 21 point game? he has avg 5 points per game the entire playoffs? WTF?

again the lakers probably deserve to be down 0-2, but i at least want to watch an entertaining series, and its impossible when the officiating is so inconsistant, especially in the wake of the fixed game scandel of last year

we just have to see how the tide turns in LA. But a call should be a call not matter what building you play in, that isnt the case in the NBA, and you cant take the Star of the leauge out of the game with two garbage ticky tack fouls in the first 5 min of the game, those could be called everytime down the floor. IF you call em once, you have to call em all night long
