Not serving in a war zone. If I want that, I'de join the army. I think the ROTC would be a better route. That way I can stay a full-time student and wait a few years on the actual job. By that time Alex, Obama will be in office..:p

I still think it's humorously ironic that, for someone who's very anti-US government, you let yourself fall far into their bull with outstanding ease. Like Will (tubularbills) said, listen to the people who actually have experience, not desperate recruiters who will say anything in order to give you peace of mind.

however, i do agree, ROTC > OTS > Academy. give yourself a social life and go the ROTC route. in a state school.

don't do it for the money, tho. do it because you truly want to.
ugh, nevermind i'm not going to go on a soap box here.

i did too :)

Army will give you more money than the AF will by both paying off loans and give you a bonus... but none of that matters b/c you have a passion about the AF and not b/c of the money right??

but yes.. will is right... go ROTC in any of the services and go to school for free and become an officer...

and btw... army isnt all infantry... there are many many other branches in the army that are even more pogue than will's weather job...

any specific questions about the Army... i'll be happy to assist,.. and im not all hooah that likes to shoot guns and run around and play Army...

Again, I make a distinction between politics and the military. I haven't even talked a recruiter yet. I've talked to my dad whose been in the army since 1981. He told me the Air Force treats its people better, everything is easier physical-wise, and is the closest thing to working in an office environment if I were to join the military. Very limited combat roles. Not saying its completely risk-free, but I'm more likely to not be deployed a hot war zone.
