Middle eastern scales. I've always been interested in them, no matter the genre.

It depends. But usually key changes are the thing I love the most. :)

all about groove and drive for me. and whether its monoton enough to make it hard to know whether ur in the start or end of a track.

Percussion and things like this really help make a track stand out and sound good but I am always more fond of better use on low end tones. Sounds that you hear almost subliminaly. There is also a sound I hear in tracks from time to time that gives me the image of a dark cloud being wrapped around the bottom of the track that rides with the bassline.

It has to be percussion patterns for me and how they're devised. When they're properly done, you can appreciate the amount of work put into them, plus it gives the track some solid drive to go with the bassline and kick.
