Best pair of headphones?

I am looking to get some really nice over the ear dj style phones and need some reccomendations.

djing headphones are NOT good for general listening. they are ALL closed back with high isolation, so you get alot of resonance and standing waves. this is ok for djing, but it makes them sound totally house for general listening - lots of phasing and complete loss of tightness in the bass. they're also extremely fatiguing.

there are MUCH better hifi headphones around. sennheiser are a good bet, just make sure they are open or semi-open back. look up some reviews and jump on headfi - these guys are very thorough and most of them are interested in general listening, not djing etc.

i know people, who own djing headphones and think they are super elite, are going to reply to this and try to start an argument... don't bother. djing headphones are made specifically for djing and they all have these problems - there are no exceptions.

That's what I'm getting them for. I am trying my hand at djing. I have everything except a good pair of monitors... well... I have some really ty scullcandys that someone gave me.
