One of the best albums of the year (imo). It makes me feel young again, like very few records out there "saturdays = youth" puts a smile on my face.
If you're a twenty-something like myself you covet the romanticism and angst of the good old teenage years. The life of cheap thrills...

This album is great but I absolutely love M83 - Couleurs (Jori Hulkkonnen Remix). It really takes that epic song to the next level.

It's a great track. I've really given alot of thought to the idea of 'what it would take to remix an M83' song. Their tracks have so much depth (in terms of content and production value) that it could easily turn out a disaster.
Luciano, Superpitcher, Jori and others have been successful though not an easy task IMO.
For the avid out there: produced by Ewan Pearson and Ken Thomas.

Great album, yes. I've been listening to it quite a lot.

Cheers. It's been on repeat forever, not many "pop" albums do that to me.
BTW, I really like Opeth (eventhough I'm new to their stuff).

M83 always means quality in my book.

It's probably because of that slightly anachronistic 80s sound and the catchy songs. :) I just listened to it now and realized i'm a little tired of it, or maybe i'm just not quite in the mood for it.

That's great. What have you heard?

Awesome album but I still don't get why Gonzales made a step to a more commercial sound compared to his previous work.
Colours is the weakest track on the album. I absolutely adore "We own the sky", "Highway of endless dreams", "Dark moves of love" and "Midnight souls still remain". They stick a little bit more to the sound of Before the dawn heals us.

watershed. got it last week after a friend of mine sent me a couple of tracks, I was impressed. I enjoy the more subtle side of metal, big fan of sunn o)) too which is a bit darker and drone out imo

In my opinion, Gonzales is just trying "something new" and aiming for a more accessible sound. The new album is supposed to sound like those "cheesy" old casio synths of the late eighties and early nineties, it's intentional.
The impression of this album will lie entirely on the listener's perspective. For some, this album is bad because it does not follow the other albums. For others, this album is tastier because we identify with those lyrics (moments) - seriously anyone who's had a psycho ex girlfriend in high school can relate.
