As always, we give a HUGE thanks to everyone who has supported our SWERVE movement over the last 4 months. The last time we invaded Café Adagio, the deep and dark sounds of Craig Heneveld and Bob Skies forced our bodies to SWERVE on the dance floor once again. The vibe you guys and gals have provided has been nothing less than incredible (and we have the pictures to prove it)! As the temperature outside continues to rise, so does the caliber of the talent we have in store for you at SWERVE. This coming Friday, August 7th, we welcome a seasoned veteran to the decks for another night of underground sounds, visual entertainment, and much needed work-week release…
Indigenous to Tampa's early 90’s house music revolution, Brian Busto grew to local DJ fame through promoting, organizing, hosting, and headlining key nights of Florida's electronic music scene. Central to the identity of venues such as The Silver Meteor, Reset @ Rain Lounge, Serious Saturday's @ Malio's, and Serious Sundaze @ Ceviche, Busto has been instrumental to Tampa's house and techno underground evolution. Following the tradition of mentors such as DJs Three, Chang, and Simon Semrani, Busto helped establish Tampa as a destination for internationally renowned DJs and producers. Busto currently holds residencies at two of South Tampa’s premier nights: “Serious Sundaze” @ Ceviche and “Snatch” @ Hyde Park Café. Be sure to check out some of Brain Busto’s music here: http://www.xstreamist.com/members/23/audio.php and don’t miss you chance to see him live in downtown St. Pete @ Café Adagio (1111 Central Ave.)
M.E.E.K.O. and Steve Graham will share the first half of the festivities, and we strongly recommend early arrival as ALL GUESTS will have COMPLIMENTARY entrance only until 10:30pm!! Enjoy 2-4-1 domestic beers during our extended happy hour from 8pm-10pm. $9 pitchers of sangria will be served all night. See you all on the dance floor!

“In general, a climax (from the Greek word “κλῖμαξ” (klimax) meaning “staircase” and “ladder”) is a point of greatest intensity or force in an ascending series; i.e., a culmination.” – Wikipedia
The dark empty space that is Café Adagio (on non-SWERVE nights) consistently becomes warm and comfy with gleeful party goers and electronic dance music enthusiasts every other Friday. We can’t thank you guys enough for the support which has turned this night into an absolute success! In return, we promise to continue to give you what you want… underground beats, visual entertainment, and a place to dance, network, and socialize. As we build towards our SWERVE “climax” (so to speak), the culmination of dj talent remains solid with every show we conduct. On Friday August 21st, we are proud to welcome 2 more very talented individuals to the decks as we continue to make our ascent!
International dj Chang Bang began his career in the USA over two decades ago. He held the longest residency of any dj at the famous Gainesville nite club, Simons! Chang DJ’d with artists like Laurent Garnier, Felix Da Housecat, Deep Dish, Green Velvet, Richie Hawtin, John Acquaviva, Mark Farina, John Digweed, and Danny Tenaglia. However, let’s not focus too far on the past… Chang has never constituted to one sound. He encompasses a plethora of music. Born in Manhattan, NY. Raised in NY and Miami, FL. He has sought out such diverse obscure sounds that he excites and entices his fans with the unknown and unexpected. Currently Chang Bang is the resident at Cheap (Tampa, Fl.), one of the only metro hot spots in Tampa for music, dining, lounging, and networking. Chang is also a volunteer in the Moses Foundation for the Street Music Workshops teaching music, djing, and hip hop for at risk youth in the Sulphur Springs community. Not too mention he is also the dj for Shunda K’s (Yo Majesty) live shows locally and abroad. Chang Bang’s reputation speaks for itself so now is your time to witness him live and in stereo!
Born and raised in St. Petersburg, Florida, Ryder was subjected to the very popular hip hop culture of the late 80’s and early 90’s. Since then, his musical taste has evolved into a style that connects elements of electronic music and the roots of urban and island music. This unique style isn’t heard very often in these digitally evolving days of dance music. Heavily influenced by Latin and African percussion, Ryder’s organic sounds, drummy basslines, and tribal rhythms will surely keep your body in a groove. Focusing more on the production side of EDM these days, Ryder is ready to turn some heads and showcase his djing abilities on this special SWERVE night.
As always, we give our dedicated SWERVE patrons a chance to enjoy the show FREE of charge. Come before 10:30pm and enjoy the progressive sounds of our resident dj Steve Graham while taking advantage of the extended happy hour drink specials which start promptly at 8pm. We hope you will save this date and come SWERVE with us @ Adagio once again! See you all on the dance floor.
