Ambient Music (Trance Without Beats)

My question is, do you like/or listen to ambient music? I was coming home today from a cottage in Northern Ontario, and my body was twitching because of the withdrawal symptoms (I drank a 26er - only my 2nd night drinking in the past 2 months). But in the car, I was at peace and completely calm and relaxed. We had Pink Floyd playing (Wish you were here)... and because the music was so ambient and calm, I loved it. Some of the ambient CDs I have are listed below:

Adiemus - The Eternal Knot
Elend - Lecons De Tenebres
Elend - Les Tenebres Du Dehors
Elend - Unbersun
Elend - Weeping Night
Enya - Watermark
Enya - A Day Without Rain
Global Communication - 76-14 Incredible
Orb - Cydonia
Orb - The Orb's Adventures Beyond the Ultraworld
Pete Namlook & Klaus Schultze - Dark Side of the Moog I through VIII
- DSOTM V and VII are the best ones
Pete Namlook & Richie Hawtin - From Within 1
Pete Namlook & Richie Hawtin - From Within 3
Pete Namlook & Tetsu Inoue - Art of Dream
Pete Namlook & Tetsu Inoue - Shades of Orion 2
Raison D'etre - In Sadness, Silence, and Solitude One of the greatest ambient CDs

Can you mention any other good ones.

Here's some REAL ambient:

Steve Roach (Ambient/Space/Tribal)
Brian Eno (Ambient)
Robert Rich (Ambient/Space)
Vidna Obmana (Ambient/Space
Ian Boddy (Space)
Future Sound Of London (Cascade - Parts 1 - 5, Lifeforms - Paths 1 - 7)
Orb
Sun Electric (I have "30.7.94 live" and it's great!)
TV Victor (Ambient + a bit of Downtempo thrown in, I have their Double-CD "Timeless Decceleration" and it puts me to sleep)
Tangerine Dream (Earlier Releases)
Ash Ra Tempel (I have their Live album "Gin Rose" and it's "Krautrock" and Ambient/Space)
Chris Spheeris/Paul Voudouris (Ambient/"Adult") (Their album "Passage" is beautiful! I love the track "Mosaic"!)

Ambient is great for relaxing, and you can also immerse yourself in it for some great listening experiences. There's alot of boring ambient out there, but here are some albums that are quite good:

Biosphere - Shenzhou (We're quite proud of this guy in Norway. His name is Geir Jenssen and he never ceases to amaze the audience with some of the most amazing soundscapes ever made.Discover him now,and feel cleansed afterwards.)

JFC - Chrome De Lux (I don't know much about this guy, other than that he is signed to an excellent independant label in Germany called Elektrolux, home to MAS 2008,Index ID and one of Kai Randy Michel's more downtempo projects,Azure Taint."Chrome De Lux" is beautiful.I bought it 3 years ago,and I still can't stop listen to it.DL the track "Rotating Minds",and you'll see what I mean.)

Boards Of Canada - Geogaddi (This isn't totally ambient(it's IMPOSSIBLE to classify these guys),but still is great to relax to.On this album they've made the soundtrack to what sounds like a multi- faceted dream, with both nightmares and good dreams.Try lying in your bed with this record on your headphones and no lights on,and let your mind wander. You'll be surprised about what you'll find.)

Isan - Lucky Cat (Sounds like a more mellow and chilled version of Plaid."Lucky Cat" is very childish, both in means of cover artwork and music, but it's this fact that makes the album so enjoyable.I really have trouble describing their music,so just DL the track "Fueled" and see for yourself.)
