Tonight! I'm in. Anyone else coming?
I'm not sure how long I'll stick around, considering I've got work in the morning. Hm, it's a shame all Opera's major electronic music parties are scheduled during the week. (For next week's Acosta show, however, I might just reserve half of a vacation day, heh.) |

It's because Opera is 18+ on weekdays. Good for the younger crowd, which ATL needs right now. |

i had a great time as well... i hadn't danced my shoes off that hard in a while! i unfortunately missed Arturo's opening set... which was my main reason for going anyhow. when i got to opera, Bryson, the other opening DJ, had just come on. that guy was going wild up there dancing around, hair bobbing everywhere, singing along if the vocal tracks he spun... it got me really pumped up watching his enthusiam. as for Blank & Jones, i thought they threw down a few good tracks i had not heard but their "flow" definitely wasn't there at all. it was all over the map: trance, then crazy electro, then some weird , then super-melodic-PVD-from-1999 type tracks. and some of the mixes were just down right awful... i swear they took their cross fader and smashed it to the other channel a few times. anyhow, i definitely had a good time with friends, and their tracks had me smiling and moving all night, so in the end i guess that's all that really matters.
oh and one last thing... LOTS of young kids which is good. my first show was Paul Oakenfold and i remember thinking how amazing it was and how much i love trance. times change. :) |
