So i'm ganna be going off to college soon, and im kinda worried that there isnt going to be enough space, or that ppl will come in and mess with all me gear. What do you all do that live in a dorm and go to college?

I did not bring my DJ gear to college. Not nearly enough space in my dorm room.

If I had gear back then I wouldn't have brought it. Too many risks.

i had my gear on my table.. i have cases for all my , and i have my laptop on top of my gear..
i just made it known to my roomate not to with my gear, sometimes when i was paranoid i would disconnect some of the cables, or purposely connect them wrong

Is your roommate a twat? Are you planning on partying in your room a lot? Do you drink a fair bit now and anticipate doing even more so upon arrival at University? Are potential blackouts a real concern?

:conf:

If you answered yes to any of the above, don't bring your gear. Enjoy college.

lol i wish i could answer 1/2 those questions...i guess i'll just play it by year, and if after like a month i feel it would be safe with them there, i'll ship them over

ususally when you get out of the dorms (if thats where your staying), once you get an apartment with your buddies...that'll be the best time to bring your gear with you

I brought my gear to my dorm room. It took up a bit of space, but I'm very glad that I brought it. We drank and had small parties in my room (RA was pretty relaxed) and it never got ed with. Just let them know to not mess with it or put food or drink next to it, and you'll be okay.

I became an RA so I could get my own room with two desks. One was for turntables, and the other was for pretending to do work on.

I took it all and loads of cds and vinyl too.

Going to a dorm, do not bring your gear! Theres plenty of things u need to be doing instead of worrying about your gear, and people are going to with it...period. As mentioned, when u get your own place, then bring it. Enjoy the dorm life and all that comes with it.
