The Power of Goa Trance

So, I'm reading this book about VSL Theory (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Variable_speed_of_light) called Faster Than The Speed of Light by Joao Mageuijo, an autobiographical tale of how Joao came up with his submission for Unified Field Theory.
So, to sum of the first 138 pages, Joao sucks.
Then, upon realization that he may be kicked out of school for sucking, he begins work on his realized answer to the Big Bang riddles, a Variable Speed of Light. It's, at first, only sketchwork with a lot of holes, and he is rarely able to concentrate due to all the douchebags at Cambridge.
So on page 153, or 1997, he escaped to Goa India to dedicate himself full-time to working on his VSL theory. And for the next 4 pages, or 2 weeks, he is engulfed.

Yes it is true, some forms of EDM such as Psy (at least the old-school goa sound) can somehow expand imagination ha. When i was 15, i used to make my homework by listening to Astral Projection and MFG myself! During my firts year in the uni, dub-techno would be the soundtrack of choice. But this is not to say that because some forms of EDM "Fit" with some creative activities that there are better than other forms of music. Each genre has its pros and cons depending on activity and time of day.
Now, someone should run an experiment to see if creative performance increases with some forms of music. :p |

Ive always wanted to make music , but the above quote has to hold hands quite tightly in this field

| Heh, niceness. I jam out to Goa-Psy at work on DI.FM alot, ive been getting bored of the prog/anethemic trance genres a bit. Goa always has something new and exciting to listen to. The breaks are kickin, and you never know what the next one is going to be like. |

psychedelics are mind expanding, certainly the music inspired by them is mind expanding also. i agree that goa sparks imagination because it promotes thinking outside of the box, never puts limits on your thoughts. i think society in the u.s. teaches the opposite, scared to find out the real truths and scared to question the foundation of our reality. i think if we weren't such a scared society that we would achieve so much more if we followed some of the ideas that einstein and several others put forth.
but in today's society nobody has the time to pursue these thoughts and everybody gets so swept up in knowing what their own personal reality is that thoughts of it being different entirely become a scary thing |
