Montreal only asked for permission to talk to Sundin. that doesn't mean anything in terms of trades...yet.
If he decides to sign here, then Montreal will have to compensate Toronto somehow (probably draft picks/prospects). But that is only if it happens before July 1st. After July 1st, Sundin can talk with any team he wants and do whatever he wants, without compensation!

they need to remove all hockey teams from the usa and make it a canadian only sport and maybe sprinkle in some teams from europe and maybe one team from the usa.
hockey is now the 7th sport in the usa behind:
football
baseball
basketball
soccer
Nascar
and
golf
its on the same tv networks down here as hunting and bass fishing. a few weeks back when tiger woods was asked who would win the Stanley cup he simply replied "come on guys, seriously, does anybody still watch hockey?"
of course you know that things might change in my eyes if the Bruins ever became good again :) :) (this will never happen though) 1970 and counting. |
