actually your ear can differences down to 0.07 ms :o This is also why you can tell what direction sound comes from. |
You're talking about something else. You're talking about phase differences between your left and right ear which is for directional purposes and is far more accurate than 10ms.
They're talking about pressing a key to trigger a sound. If the sound starts within about 10ms after pressing a key it is interpreted by your brains as if there is no latency. |

how does it sound? like a supersaw? ;)
actually you can hear 10ms in a rhythmic context but it's something completely different if you press a note and hear the actual sound 10ms later. which is by far less audible. |

Hey Auxilary Input!
Your reason refill you made a few years ago was friggin awesome, it's still one of the only refills I consistantly open ( out of about 10 gigs worth).
Soo I'd be very very interested to see what type of patches you've made for your virus, what model virus you're using... and as a virus owner myself, would like to know if you could make this available in the preset format, as opposed to a refill.
Keep up the good work

Thanks!
I'm using a virus classic. I'm gonna sell it and buy a TI soon. (at least I hope I can) I can probably release my bank as it is. I was going to try and make 128 presets but I don't know.
As for my old refill. I don't know, I kindof hate it. It was made a couple of years ago, though. |

Hate it? I guess we can often be our own strongest critics.
I was very impressed with what you managed to coax out of the reason synths, that's all. Found it very fun when I just wanted to have a bit of a jam.
Yeah, I've got a virus classic too, would like a TI, but funds are a bit scarce at the moment. So yeah, please upload the preset file if you don't mind, I'd absolutley love to see what you can come up with when using a decent synth, and not reason.

It's because of FL. There's no delay in Cubase. |
You need to look up PDC in the FL manual, it is a right pain in the arse and one of the main reasons i jumped ship |

Looking up PDC in the manual? I tried doing that and I couldn't find anything. |

Plugin Delay Compensation.
When supported the right way your sequencer will take plugins which introduce a delay to the signal into account. It will trigger the specific channels with the plugins earlier to compensate for the delay so everything plays as it should.
FLstudio's support isn't up to par and does not always correct the latency as you might expect. |

I can hear 10ms latency. But I can also see the difference in color here.
The question is, why do you feel the need to move your bass forward 10ms if it's unhearable? |

because some plugin latency things go near 100ms for instance, or a chain could have a delay for over a second if you have enough plugins in there.
Besides you're one of the guys that makes the wrong comparison as well. 10ms can be heard in a rhythmic context as explained earlier (as it creates a slightly but recognizable different sound, especially with the first tick at percussion this is easily noticeable), 10ms can be heard in a phase difference context (the way your hearing hears stereo sounds). But your mind isn't able to notice the latency between pressing a key and the time the sound comes out (given the latency is lower than/around 10ms). This is not a thing that's purely about your hearing, it's a combination of combining visual information with what you hear. And that's an entirely different story than the other cases mentioned before the last one. |
