Logic 8 Studio Suite (Logic Pro) is hardly eating the CPU resources! Help!

Hi guys, recently I installed Logic 8 Express on my Macbook Pro (Core 2 Duo 2.4 Ghz, 4 cache, 2 RAM, 200 HD 7.200 RPM) and it worked correctly, I've made some sequence tests using various softsynths and effects modules simultaneously.
But now I've uninstalled Logic Express, installed Logic Pro and it's hardly eating my CPU resources, if I load for example, 1 Nexus, 1 Ultrabeat and a 1 Ozone it becomes red and gliches... And I'm working in 48 Khz :(
Other information: Working with M-audio NRV10 and Leopard 10.52...
Maybe something wrong when I uninstalled Logic Express? I've moved the app to trash...
ps:. Mac uninstalling methods sucks...
Help!!! Impossible to sequence a simple jingle here :(

Found this guide on Mac Rumors:
Files need deleting from all sorts of places starting with these 3 in the user section -
~/Library/Application Support/companyorappname
~/Library/Preferences/com.companyname.appname.plist
~/Library/Appliaction Support/companyorappname
But also -
Macintosh Hard Drive/Library/Application Support
Macintosh Hard Drive/Logic
and most importantly -
Macintosh Hard Drive/Library/Receipts
Haven't ever had to uninstall Logic so I hope this helps/works! |

is this exactly the same project file that you're trying to playback?
Sounds like you must update to 10.5.3. and repair permissions (in the disk utility). Take care of your os with onyx, too. And update Logic, too.
10.5.2 was a nightmare for audio as described on CreateDigitalMusic blog.

Sorry I'm a ing begginer in macs...
I'm plaining to install here the Tiger 10.411..
A friend told me that Tiger is a stable OS for audio...
Is it a good idea to get rid from all the nightmares?

ok, don't panic.
First of all, you should update logic pro to 8.02 as well as your OS X to 10.5.3, which addresses a few issues with CPU performance in Audio apps such as Logic, Live... Update also all of your 3rd party plug-ins and VSTi's if you haven't done so yet.
Now, it's very important for you to know how permissions and optimizing can affect OS X.
In Applications> Utilities, there's Disk Utility. If you start it up and click on your Mac HD volume, you should see an option "repair disk permissions". Click on it. It might take a while until it's done. It solves a lot of issues that slow every read/write process down.
Now, Onyx. Google it, download this app, and run it, it's entirely free. Onyx proposes a bunch of maintenance processes that will empty caches, so everything should run smoothly. I do this every now and then and it helps, really.
You said that you're running Romplers such as Nexus... Glitching might be due to disk fragmentation if those romplers are installed on an external drive. I recommend using Speedtools or Techtool pro in that case. If you want to make sure, Disable Nexus when doing playback. It wouldn't surprise me at all.
Last thing, the minimum amount of buffers when using external interfaces such as M-audio's should be set to 256 or even 512 samples.
It's probably something like that. Can't be anything else.
Of course Tiger does eat up a lot less RAM, but I personally cannot live without Leopard's new features (Core-level VNC, Spaces, etc...)

Ok guys, I think is not possible install Tiger on a Leopard machine.. tried with no sucess..
But now I formated the disk and installed a fresh up to date Leopard 10.53, Logic to 8.02 and all of my audio and mid drivers.. All things up to date..
Nothing helped.. Logic Pro 8 still eating my CPU 2 times more than the 8 Express.. I also do not instaled any AUs, only testing in a fresh install with EXS24..
I repeat, Logic Pro 8 is eating all of my Core 2 Duo 2.4 Ghz, 4 cache, 2 RAM, 200 HD 7.200 RPM, when I try to play a piano on EXS24 or try to play a pad on Nexus..
ps: some things like playing a rythm in Ultrabeat can eat about 50% of the resources..
Is it normal? I hope no..
What king of program is it that turns a top of end Core 2 Duo Macbook Pro in a turtle?

Something else is wrong man, because I can run Logic 8 Pro on my MacBook Pro Core2Duo 2.2 Ghz with 2GB RAM and the on-board sound card and it runs fine. This is even using 2 or 3 instances of Massive and Space Designer, both of which are CPU hogs. Its definitely not the Logic software.
Check your Activity monitor and make sure it is indeed Logic that is eating all the CPU and you do not have something else running. |

| Your problem is 8.02. This happened to me when I upgraded from 8.00. Revert back to 8.00 and I'll bet you it'll work fine. |

It's simple, just go into your Applications folder and delete the Logic application file. Then re-install Logic from the DVD (you don't have to re-install all the plugins and samples, just the actual software). |
