So i was researching which type of headphones i should get for dj use and i was just curious to what some of you guys use or would recomend. I have looked at the Sennheiser HD280 which has a good price tag but i also have looked at the Sony MDR-7509HD & the Sony MDR-V900HD which is about 180 bucks.

it depends heavily on DJing style, if you need headphones that twist in every direction, then get a pair that does. 95% of the time DJs ive seen use these:

I have the technics.... too heavy and to bass oriented.

I like the feel and look of the pioneer ones but i like the audio of the sony ones. plus it has replaceable parts.

Pioneer 1000s all the way.

I would also like to say I've been using the Sony MDRV700s for about 3 years now. Not one complaint. I loff them more than any speaker appliance I've ever used, including the Sony 750s

Newegg.com - Sennheiser Headphones and MP3 Player for $100
A bundle of Sennheiser HD-280 Professional Headphones and a Centon 2GB Portable MP3 Player for $100 with free 3-day shipping. Several other stores also sell these headphones for $100, but without a free MP3 player.

I think the majority of the folks who frequent the DJ Booth will give a big shout out to the Sony 7506 series.

I've got Senheiser 280's and they're quite alright albeit a bit quiet at times. I'll probably pick up some Sonys next, most likely the 7506. One word of advice, don't buy Stanton.

It should sorta go without saying, but I bought Stanton headphones the first time around and they broke within the first six months. Not to mention they were rather heavy and made your ears sore after extended use.

i have the pioneers. they sound great, and have never given me a problem. i've also used the technics though, and prefer their bulkier/sturdier (feeling) design - they also fit better on my ears :clown:

I probably wouldn't go with Pioneer headphones either simply because of the preponderance of negative reviews regarding them :p
