Tons of adults watch it. Nothing wrong with it there.

Reverting back to the original topic for a bit....

I think it's interesting just how often you find males getting hurt in relationships these days. I'm not sure how it was in yester-years (top word that) but I'm amazed at how often topics like this come up on this forum, with some poor bloke being stung by a self-important female. And it's not just in the comings and goings of this cyber-world either, it seems to be the way things are going in the "real world" (remember that place? :) ). I dunno, maybe my point of view is blurred somewhat, but the majority of male friends I have have been stung in a relationship at some point, where as few - if any - of the females I know have been in a similar position.

And just in the things I've read an seen, it seems like, so often, the male comes off second best even though he is supposed to be the dominant, uncaring, sleazy one according to traditional logic. Perhaps it's PC gone wrong, but too often males enter relationships too deeply, where as the females are only interested in them on a superficial level, which seems to directly contrast the traditional picture of the weak, love-smitten girl lusting after the strong, indifferent man. I think what we are seeing now is the back-lash of the paternalism that dominated pre-neomodernisitic (another top word) thought. The pendulum swings back, women square the ledger, and we're back to where we started.

The thing women need to realise, from what I see and hear, is that in this day and age, males are in touch with their emotions and should be treated as emotional beings. They are not indifferent, apathetic individuals who are in it just for the sex, males in this day and age are privy to the full range of the emotional spectrum, and they will burn if you set them alight (metaphorically of course). Relationships, to many of the girls that I know, mean about as much to them as a new handbag or a pair of jeans: the second they go out of fashion it's time to attract a new one for the same purpose. I'm not saying this applies to all women - so keep this in mind - it just seems to be a growing trend within the gender.

Now I know the same can be said in reverse. There are a lot of bastards out there who use women and then spit them out once they're done. I know a couple of people like this, and believe me, I can recognise a prick when I see one. Don't think I'm a chauvanist who thinks that women ought to conform to my preconceived standards about femininity, because that's not the case. Often it's these sort of little idiosynchracies they have that can make them so appealing in the first place.

What's my point?

I think someone earlier hit the nail on the head when they mentioned "communication" as being important. I'll let you in on a little secret girls: us males have absolutely no idea how your minds work. I'm sure the same (to a degree) applies the other way, but good god, I'm not sure I can be bothered interpreting subtle hints all the time. Be explicit. If you want your space then say so. If you want to have sex then say so. If you don't like that slimy matter between our toes...... well, some things will always remain sacred. :D

But seriously, I'm sick of all these games men and women play with each other. It could be so much simpler if we stopped communicating in some wierd code, and actually tried to bridge the gender gap by using honest, explicit (not in the sexual sense) communication. If nothing else it'll stop the incessent flood of "what men/women say and what they really mean" e-mails.

Anyway.....

*Sigh*

PS: At the age of 19, I still watch Scooby Doo. It's kinda wierd how you assume all this supernatural goes down but there's always a rational explanation for it. Good life lesson that.

^^^^^^^^^^ that is really well thought out, I do agree how there's some sort of trend in terms of more and more men being emotionally hurt etc. I hate the games as well, what's the point? It's just hassle and a needless pain in the ass. Why not be honest? What's wrong with that? Just tell somebody what you really want out of it and that solves the problem.

umm spad how can u know for a fact that the reason why we are saying that children's cartoons are immature and boring to watch as an adult is because we are concerned with a certain image??? where the hell did u pull that out from?? and watching south park because it's socially acceptable?? lol u could not possibly make that assumption by what is being said in this forum...this is all just our OPINIONS people...that's what this whole site is about...people's opinions. so no one is really right or wrong...there are just the cool people and the S. hahaha

miss proximus: if u dont give a what ppl think (that is the vibe i get from u and what u try to prove to everyone) then why do u take the time to reply to everyone's negative post about u??

The reason you don't mind watching the Simpsons or South Park is because it's socially acceptable for somebody your age to watch them.

BORING!

I'm 23.
I watch kids TV.
I'm still a man.
The space-time continum wasn't affected and people are still dying of hunger in third world countries. Which I think we can all agree means it really doesn't matter.

I dont understand what you are trying to prove by telling me that you are 23, well to me if you are a guy and you are 23 and you are watching cartoons (AND NO I DON'T MEAN SIMPSONS OR SOUTHPARK or any other made for mature viewers) then you are immature, but if your girlfriends acts like you then that is fine, Let me know what you have accomplished in 10 years.

and sweetie for starters, I am not concerned with my image , and I dont need to act all grown up , cause i already am , this is life, you are born you live and you die, i don't want to die watching cartoons,I've been there and I've done that, I need to experience and learn from different things(and I dont think that cartoons is going to help me on that),that doesnt mean I am an old lady, you are still going to clubs, I own a club, and while you are still going to parties, I am going to cocktails, but i dont think that i am acting all grown up because i am accoplishing things for my future, what is wrong with that? Whe i get old and start ting in my pants and sit in front of the tv the whole day, I'll worry about going back to watching cartoons . Don't get me wrong but posting in here that you are a 23 yr. old guy just doesnt get trough my head, I am so used to hanging out with guys who are 21 and older and already own their private properties and all, so when you are coming around trying to prove that age matters, yes you are right, you have just proven that guys are more immature than women when it comes to age, because a 23 yr old women would NOT be watching cartoons sweetie.

and for the hunger part, well it is just so bad that a lot of people are dying from hunger, but where are you trying to get?? I dont see you doing anything about it, so let's not start an argument, cause this wont get anywhere.

wow Rick ,,girllll I love your post :) I agree with you 100%

what club do you own?? is it in florida.. cause if it is tell us .. we need new clubs around here.. heheh

and Miss proximus.. no my first post was not towards you(it was towards yellowbee), It worries me that you take a lot of posts so seriously, you said yourself that you have a lot of self confidence, but reading your replies before asking me who i was reffering to meant two things to me.. that either 1) you do watch cartoons 24/7 and you got mad because you know you do it and someone say that (because if you know you didnt do it, then i dont see what is the point on replying right??)

or
2) you have no self confidence for getting mad at every post and that brings me back to option number one again.

I mean come down Girl, have you even notice how ridicule you become when you reply to something that wasnt even towards you to begin with.
too many worries, might give you grey hair

and to the whole cartoon thing.. i guess rick explained ecxactly what i felt...and no i dont have anything wrong with simpsons.. i collect the seasons on dvd... i meant lil kids cartoon you know like that blues clues show... or the dragon ball z cartoon? well i have this girl friend who is 19 and she watches blues clues all the time, she collects the back pack.. she has the stickers on her car.. her stamps for gods sake has a freaking blue clue on them.. and she is working at taco bell, taking her GED cause she was a high school drop out...
My yourger brother.. 18.. high school drop out.. never had a job in his life.. parties like crazy..watches dragon ball z with his friends every single day, I mean come on now...LIVE but live fully to new experiences... don't vegetate .

I cannot explain the mystery of the functioning of my brain ;) haha

I didn't feel I needed to ask you who you were referring to, as you posted that I watch a lot of cartoons (can't quote the exact post atm) and that was a recent post, so I assumed (yes, even I know assumptions are bad :p) it was referred to me, as kind of a strike under the belt

hehe I spend so much time on the net (either for educational or for leisural (??) purpose) that I don't even have time to watch tv! :D apart from Buffy the Vampire Slayer ofcourse :p

anyhow, it doesn't even matter what drives ppl does it? as long as we all get along haha...so let's join hands and all sing kumbajahhh :)

i'm glad you decided to reply faye...the rest will have to be dealt with thru pm right? :) i don't want loads of little kiddies and angry gurlies jumpin on our backs :p

now......i was watching a movie (huh? TV!!) and commercial breaktime is over so I'm off again :)
