:conf:

Thought the first was one of the worst games I've ever played.

I played 2. Liked beeing the wizard and shoot that frozen orb that spins while launching frostbolts :)

It was a good hack and slash game with an oke story.

It was different than baldurs gate and Fallout, which are more my style of games.

Wow... starcraft 2 and diablo 3 are really pushing the envolope of really bad art direction. Starcraft 2 is really cartoony, and diablo 3 just isn't dark enough (pretty cartoony too). I think all hope is lost for starcraft 2... but hopefully they can save diablo 3 or maybe someone will make some great graphics mods for both.

Diablo 2 is on my list of things to play someday... I just can't seem to get into it as much as diablo 1. I think I'll buy LOD first and then give it a good going through.

Yup, and that won't stop until Samwise Diddier has a heart attack or something.

Interesting tidbits from the Joystiq Interview:

It's about 20 years after Lord of Destruction. Essentially since then, if you're familiar with the lore, Tyreal destroyed the worldstone and the general consensus was that this was going to be the big Hell invasion because the worldstone's keeping everything back. And essentially that invasion never happened and one of the many questions is ... why? And we aren't going to answer that today, but that's what the story addresses. What's happened to Tyreal since then? What's happened to Deckard Cain?

We bring back a lot of characters, not just from Diablo 2 but Diablo 1 as well. We're also bringing back some characters in kind of unconventional ways. For example, the barbarian we showed today is actually meant to be the same barbarian from Diablo 2. So we're planning on doing a lot of cool stuff to make a richer storyline.

Well i guess i will have to play it, if for no toher reason than to get so frustrated by some minor fault that i will have a valid reason for hating it.

isn't that a little bit too much information yan?

especially since most of those items aren't even going to be in the final release.

I don't have an official source for this, but I heard that there is currently a rogue class in this build. We can also assume there will be a mage of sorts (they wouldn't make diablo without one), which only leaves one more class to reveal.

Just about all of those items hail from Diablo II, actually. I wouldn't be surprised to find them in the final build.

Also, I'd like people to notice the new inventory screen. Now people can wear pauldrons and leggings. Pots are in the bottom right (stackable, it seems). No tomes anymore, either.

I loved both Diablo I and II, although I stuck with D2 a lot longer, especially after the LOD expansion.

And the game is a hack n slash on the surface, but after playing D2 LOD for too long I found many many new things to try out.

But I am totally gonna ruin my job when this is finally released. I am thinking end of next year it should be out. We should all team up when it does come out.

I totally feel ya. My life will be compromised.

Interesting to note: The game's been in production since, latest, August 2005. 3 years of production is a pretty long time (assuming Blizzard North's work was transferred over immediately). I wouldn't be TOO surprised if it were to come out around year-end '09. However, I'd venture to take a guess and say the release date'll be in 2010, the earliest.

A TA-clan? Hmmm... This is assuming we'd all play the same mode, right? The main choices are Ladder/Non-Ladder and Softcore/Hardcore (possibly), as far as we know.
