See this lineup was announced overnight. Props to fury for catching the flyer and posting it in the SF events section, but think this deserves it's own thread....
A couple tidbits on this event...
1. It's in Richmond, CA....notorioulsy bad (though it's only a part of Richmond that's bad..it's just REAL BAD). The venue is along the bay water and in my drives along that bay, it's mainly all just refineries and not much housing...point is I wouldn't worry too much about criminal activity.
2. You prob guessed it, there's only one single room at this event. I believe it has a 5,000 person capacity. And Skills said that with the focus only having to be one room, we should get a production like we see at events at Bill Graham. I just hope it's the pre-2007 events, because the LF Afterparty and Tiesto (obviously because of his demands) had much more subdued lighitng than we had in past events there and...*gasp* NO LASERS...I don't get how DJs get away with all these demands here int he US but when I see pics/videos of them in just about club in any other country, there's massives lasers everywhere!! Oh well.
3. The venue is like a Pier...think Pier 48 where etd.POP was years back...by far my fav venue for any massive I've been too (note: Have not been to any in Europe, hehe). And because a venue like this will (guessing here) have very easy access to go outside to take a break and still hear the music well....so that could help with e-puddles from forming on the floor when they can go outside and still hear things. Last time I saw no e-puddles was at the etd.POP at Pier 48 years back...because everyone could walk just outside the building, right to the left of the main stage, to be outside....so everyone just sat along the walls and stuff out there listening to the music instead of plopping themselves in the middle of rht floor.

Amazing Paul van Dyk at a HUGE Venue!!!
I love 1015 but Paul van Dyk @ 1015 is too crazy, too pack!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I always wonder why PvD only played at 1015? was there a contract, or something?? |

| this event feels weird somehow... the combination of acts, venue, location, one room only, ticket prices, doesn't excite me at all --- i'm just uninterested. i have no reason to be negative about it, and i rarely ever skip an event, but in this case maybe the sets will just predictable and i don't want to go to the effort of going to this venue and then being "stuck" in one room, and having to get my money's worth and not being able to ditch easily. also, these acts are easy to catch in the SF clubs. but as davet mentioned, there could be a lot of benefits to this venue and there is a great opportunity for the production to be absolutely killer! |

This looks very interesting.... 4 DJs spread over 7 hours?? could we possibly see...
PVD & CL for 2 Hours each in a 5,000 cap party with Bill Graham production value?
I remember hearing the sets from Planet Love 06 with CL & PVD... awesome stuff....
does JXL still do that dam whooosh sound over every song? |
