well said, bobby. it's unfortunate, but the entire group gets a bad name due to the actions of a few. how do they expect to be taken seriously by anyone, gay or straight, if they parade around in the nude? it was my first time checking out the parade and i heard a lady scream, "it doesn't matter if you're gay or straight, be proud of who you are. happy pride!" i think she echoes the sentiments of what pride week is all about but then these idiots come along with their winnies-a-wagging. :rolleyes: |

off to all the homophobes. You're the reason we have PRIDE .. to tell you all to OFF and get over your pathetic selves. Straight people get to flaunt being straight constantly. Almost everything out in public is promoted/distributed/advertised to the straight community -just look at the ads, movies, tv shows, the best clubs and bars etc. and you don't hear me bitching about that now do you? We get 1 week a year to party our asses off .. GET OVER IT
Pride was amazing this year and I had tons of fun.

u cant argue this at all...gay marriage and gay rights are human rights. everyone should be equal gay or stright...
church and state are suppose to be seperate, theirfore religion has no place in deciding whether gays are allowed to get married or adopt or not. this is a human rights issue...welcome to 2008 where we dont supress ppl anymore for being different or we try not too. |

dont get me wrong i think pride is what it is and for those who love that scene its probably a lot of fun. BUT it is just a party, dont try to attach any meaningful political or social statements to it because they end up just being frantic gestures in pursuit of individual identity from the "straight masses". the government allows it, the city allows it, people attend it and everybody is on your side what the more could you possible feign intolerance too?
all im saying is its about as in your face as a green day concert circa...well right now, attended by 13 year olds. pride is so mainstream it might as well be pop culture too. |
