there's this one distinct riff/track that PVD played all throughout his set, anyone know?

That in itself makes VIP worth it! ;)

As far as all the complaints of too many people... Well it IS a massive. What'd you expect?! :stongue:

And the puddles... Well it IS an all ages massive! What'd you expect?! :stongue:

Sorry I just think it's funny that everyone has the exact same complaints about every massive that gets posted on here. And I'm not saying I don't agree. In fact, those are all the reasons I don't go to massives any more. :D

But if you enjoyed yourself, right on! :)

Oh and also, for future reference, if you don't wanna wait a couple hours in line, find someone near the front who's really ed up, start a conversation, and then ta-da! you're at the front of the line too! ;)

d ramirez was sick. i was on stage with him the whole time. opened up with system it got me really going.
armand van helden was chill as well. except for the fact that he got my girls number haha, owned.
benny was ummmm benny not impressive in my eyes.
free waters and alcohol and monsters all night not to mention not waiting in ridiculous lines.
cosmic meadows was definitely the place to be.

and uh.. how was it..

ya he played let go...

edc was chill cept way to many ppl this time.

pvd banged it out harder than ive ever seen him do so. he threw out smack by simon patterson which was epic.

but my favorite act of the night was definently d. ramirez who banged it out with some siiiick techno. it was pure amazingness.

Agree 100%! My ideal set order would have been:

Bamaca
Benassi
Moby
CL
Eddie Halliwell
Menno de Jong
PVD

I left home a little after 5, 10FWY and Hoover south were jammed, 30 mins waiting to park once inside, and horrendous line (4 of the staff couldn't tell me where groovetickets will-call was, the 4th one finally knew something, couldn't they have just added the will-call location to that big email about bringing the right credit card?), didn't get in until 7:45 but thankfully Menno's set went late, so ran to the front and caught the last 15 minutes!

Menno def deserves his own headliner set at a decent club here in LA. So many people came to see him but were stuck outside in a sea of endless people going nowhere.

I do think that the event organizers can do better. When I went to Trance Energy, a party with 30,000 people, my friends and I were parked within 10 minutes, and there were no lines at the MULTIPLE entrances, you just walked right in!

With an event this size, there should be entrances on all sides of the coliseum, four or more of them would help. Since people are parking all around the coliseum, wouldn't have to walk as far and would get them in faster so they could hear the music they came for and start getting drinks earlier (so more $$$ for promoter!)

The bar situation was much better this year though, never waited more than 5 mins for a drink. Didn't seem like there were that many more bars this year, so maybe people were just drinking less due to the miserable state of the economy?

Eddie's set must have been really short, left just a few minutes after he started to use the restroom and get a burrito, and CL was already on when I got back! Trying to dance to PVD's music was utter insanity, all I could concentrate on was standing up and not being hit in the face by random elbows, then some girl would say that she couldn't see and would sit on her guy's shoulders right in front of you. F'd up crowd wouldn't even let you move back, most were too cracked out to even realize that anyone else was there!

Great turnout though, must have been 2x last year, so EDM still rocks! Overall, it was a night filled with great music and a lot of happy people, just some nasty bumps along the way...

I had a great time...line took a little while, not too bad though. Glitch Mob was really cool, first time I had heard them.

I saw..

the very end of Eddie Halliwell's set
Christopher Lawrence
BT
Rabbit in the Moon (unbeliebable)
Moby
PvD
Dieselboy
DJ Hype

I liked all of them.

The only part I could have done without..

The people that LAY ON THE GROUND IN THE MIDDLE OF THE DAMN MAINSTAGE AREA..come on..that's what the bleachers are for.

I understand you wanna do drugs and trip out, but , people are actually trying to enjoy the music. It got kinda old trying to step over a couple thousand people laying on the ground.

I had a great time overall, definitely worth the $60.00

i wasn't there, but from reading all the reviews, is it just me or is there more and more kids coming to these events? i went to etd pop in may and trying to walk through the crowd was insane. it just totally kills it for me. i remember going to monster massive 04, and the crowd was great, plenty of room to dance and move around, and not that many kids. with it's ever growing popularity, pretty soon, there's not going to be anymore massives. sucks not to be 21 then. :P

i don't know, maybe i'm just getting old. good thing i can always catch these djs at the clubs. even then, it's getting ridiculous with the major djs.

for the record, insomniac can suck a nut with their diarrhea for organization.
TSG
Yeah! ^ Waited in line for like 1.5 to 2 hrs! Missed Menno & Eddie!

I think so. Most of them looked 15 or 16 and the majority were wasted! I know that they're not there for the music or DJs, mostly there to be in a fantasy world, get all fvcked up and who knows what else. *shakes head*

WOW, I didnt wait that long in line to get in...I was waiting for a friend, that was all we really waited for. It was great to see the looooooooooong exit line off the freeway for both exits. I went 1 exit past, went up to Hoover and drove straight across to MLK and into the parking lot.:stongue:

I did the same thing.

Normally i would say youre a bitch but this time around the insomniac crew was just plain retarded.

Yeah. I hate line cutters, but I have to blame Insomniac for creating the situation that made cutting so attractive and easy. After 3 hours of watching people walk by me to the front, it was everyone for himself. I tried to be the good citizen, but that only got me screwed.

Step over? I stepped ON them. :stongue:
I lost my friends when we went to get on the floor for PvD. I started at the staircase in the middle of the arena, and somehow found my way to the front. Talked with some not-cracked out people, I think some found it strange that I could enjoy myself, by myself. Do people not realize that some people can like music alone. :conf:
I called it my Journey to the Center of the Rave. :haha:

Back to transcribing that CL interview.:happy2:
