Absolutely. However I think 15-16-17 is a bit too young to be trying pills. |

Scene looks pretty grim if all we have are E-Tarded middle schoolers |
They'll grow and mature. The kids don't bother me unless they're e-puddling in the middle of the dance floor or can't handle their (and even then, I'm likely to forgive, I remember not handling every recreational substance I took as a teenager).

I don't think there's necessarily anything wrong with that. Although I do agree mid-teens isn't the smartest time to start experimenting with pills. |

you would think, but then i look back at what i was doing at those ages and i cannot be a hipocrit.
And no reason to talk down on the kids who seem to be there for just the drugs, the 21+ clubs have the same issues. you think just cause you are 21+ and you are partying it is suddenly all about the music? I think not. |

Yeah, I just think they are into it for the wrong reasons. I don't think these huge events give a good indication of what good dance music is. But that has more to do with my dance music experience being much different than most folks. |

99.1% of people that go to all age massives are there for DRUGS.
Anyone in their right mind who has an ear for music is not going to waste their time, money, and energy dealing with massive bull . |

Not the parties I go to. By and large when I go out, 80-90% of the people there are present for the music and the party, not just to get ed off their face and look at cool visuals and lights. The exception would have to be when I go to Avalon now and then, but still.
It has nothing to do with age either. I know kids in middle school who love the music just as I know 35 year olds who just go out to get plastered and the music doesn't matter.
Suli is right, massives are by and large, poor representations of good music and the folks there generally do not care so much.
The thing is, every time the kids I know come back from those, they say every DJ was amazing, and it's just because the drugs + production is a new experience for them, not because the music actually was good and interesting.
Again, my dance music experience is vastly different from theirs and that is where the rift lies. Hopefully though as Battelkat said, these open the door for them to continue exploring this music deeper and move past these hype-fests. |

the truth is, massives are usually peoples first encounter with the "scene" although it is a completly different experience then say an underground techno party.
But they are still very important to the scene as they draw many in who will possibly be regulars for years to come. My first party was a massive, and i went to many more over the next few years of partying.
Not going for just the "music" doesnt mean you are going for the wrong reasons tho. I went for the company. I dont get to go out with my little brother often as he is younger. So getting to hang with him is the reason i went.
but suli is correct, most are there for the drugs, but it has little to do with age. the % dont get much better in the 21+ events. how many sober people are at Giant village parties?
and the events you attend clovis, im sure are more there for the music, but most of them are problem obscure techno events that have found a nitch, so the party goers there are much more knowledgable |
