My vids are uploading. I'm sooooo late at this lol sorry guys! So I guess I'll post a review while I wait.
PART 1
Ok so, The Guv was by far the absolute WORST clubbing experience EVER. Nobody says excuse me, sorry, NOTHING when they ram into you. And they don't believe in waiting their turn to pass by, they shove you into the crowd. When I tried pushing people back, I'd get pushed back harder. They don't realize how ing rude and disgusting they are. Eassssyyyyy on the pills and coke there TO peeps!!!
Another thing, bouncers slamming people into walls (myself included). I basically started crying inside the club (yes, THAT'S how bad it really was) when I started being groped by 40+ yr old dirty men who don't take NO for an answer and who even pushed around Maher so they could get a better grasp on my ass. Impossible to move inside, just dirtiness EVERYWHERE. Go and tell a bouncer you're being groped and straight up violated, they smile and laugh at you.
The soundsystem made my ears hurt ALOT and the lighting system they have made me blind (see videos). You can't even see the whole complex because you get beat up on your way to different rooms. On the brighter side, Nic Fanciulli rocked the outta the system and Steve was really good too but I only saw him for an hour from 2am-3am then I couldn't deal anymore and left in tears. I was asleep by 330am. Right when my favourite DJ was killing it, I'm sure.
Really too bad because the venue itself is something else!
Basically, I'll never go back and I'd never ever recommend this craphole for a club called The Guv.
PART 2
Woke up at 930am Tuesday morning, Canada Day, refreshed but still pissed that I missed Steve's sunrise set...He was the reason I was going down to TO in the first place! Anyways, the boat party saved the whole trip for me. Nothing but gorgeous weather, chicken burgers, hot dogs, booze and DECENT, really friendly people! I was meeting soooo many peeps and enjoying myself so much. Luke Fair and Nic Fanciulli totally and utterly did an amazing job. Luke with the straight up house and Nic with the techier stuff...It was slammmmingggg and I have nothing negative to say about this party at all...Totally, totally fantastic party- couldn't have asked for more. My vids will say the rest.
PART 3
After party at Toika Lounge...this is the party Maher was playing at. Awesome little venue, holds no more than 200 people and it was packed! Annnnnnd, a nice little surprise was that Luke Fair was the secret special guest- he did a great job again and it was a cool little party. We were dead tired by 230am and went back to bed to catch up on sleep.
Then on Wednesday, we came home and saw Stereo burning from the bus window :( Welcome back! lol...
All in all, Montreal owns Toronto but I might go back for the SOS boatparty Aug 3rd :) Boatparties own ;)
I realized how spolied I am in Montreal having Stereo and PikNik. Even though MTL's scene could use a little work, I'm still soooo happy I'm here and not there.

Btw, you forgot the skasians @ the guv :) The they really put the K into Ketamine....
I had a good time with my friends tho, nowhere as close to the good times I have in MTL ofcourse...
Ravemontreal
I've seen the high res video of Lawler on Guv's terrasse, and honestly, I have NEVER seen so many guys on a dancefloor, Except maybe at Sky. That looked like a total sausage fest. Horrible.

This is basically what i have been saying for years minus the gropping ;)
Absolute ridiculous pushing in that club, bouncers are absolute brutes that have no respect for their patrons.
Sad to hear about your experience in there... it ing sucks.

Alright here are allll my vids (minus the gay touristy ones hehe...) I apologize in advance for the silliness, the sound cutting out and my random comments...
PART 1 - GUVERNMENT
NIC FANCIULLI
STEVE LAWLER
PART 2 - BOAT PARTY "BEATS AHOY!"
CHILLIN'
LUKE FAIR
NIC FANCIULLI
Big Boss
Ah, ragging on my city...
Anyway, I'm not here to defend Toronto or diss Montreal but Guvernment long weekend crowds are really brutal. But still, if you came down to see Lawler, you should have just grinded it out and tried to see him, regardless of the mutant Toronto long weekend crowd.
But I'm assuming you saw him at Tribe, so whatever.
Toronto long weekend crowd is horrible, but that shouldn't deter you from coming back here. I prefer partying in Montreal, but at times the Toronto crowd is great, it just has to be at the right party.

I did see him at Tribe. That has nothing to do with it though. And I did see him at Guv; for an hour. Grinded it out? LOL. You're clearly not a 5 foot 2 inch girl and you clearly weren't being slammed into walls by bouncers to the point of crying nor were you being raped by other nasty people's hands, again, to the point of crying.
Don't tell me what I should have done, jeez! And your excuse is that it was a long weekend crowd? Lamest thing I've ever heard!
I'm not ragging on your city. I reviewed my night at The Guv...The Guv doesn't constitute ALL of your precious city aka TO. Take a good hard look and you'll notice I'm not the only one saying these things; take note of that next time you decide to single me out, tell me what I should have done and disregard everyone else's negative comments.
Cheers!

Clearly, you know nothing of the Toronto crowds if you think that a "long weekend crowd" is an excuse. The mutants do come out on long weekend. People that usually don't party on a weekly basis, ingest drugs and turn into mutants. And they act like idiots. How is that hard to understand? It happens in New York too. Labour Day in Montreal...it's a lot of Toronto mutants invading the city.
There's no way I would go away on a trip to see a DJ and complain about the crowd and leave, no matter how disappointed I am at the venue/crowd. I would have went to a different room until the place cleared out a bit, but that's me.
I wouldn't care, neither would anyone else in this city about you ragging on Toronto. I just pointed it out in a non confrontational way, and you took it the wrong way. Oh well.

Sorry your Toronto visit was so BLAH. Anyway, just curious which hotel did you end up staying at? I'm trying to arrange for a decent and affordable place for some friends visiting Civic Holiday which is first weekend of August. Gotta love those long weekends of the summer.
I'm sure if Deadmau5 was your personal club tour guide in T.O. you would have had a much better time! :p

Big Boss: you may been used to the rudeness of the patrons and bouncers, and feel its quite normal on off nights.
I have been there many times, say 6 or 7 (lost count), and on very regular nights with mark oliver spining... and let me tell you thats its not that different, just less packed.
