When i was 8 years old my parents told me how expensive college could be. I asked them, what if they couldnt afford it how would i be able to go? They replied they would find a way to pay for it no matter what happens. I guess i was spoiled. I had 2 cars at age 16. Never paid a dime for school. But my younger brother, he was & still is spoiled. Got his school, wedding & honeymoon paid for. He just was able to buy a new house without his old house being sold cause my dad spotted him $40k for a down payment. Supposedly he paid him back when the house was sold but i doubt it.

So, any other "spoiled" kids out there who want to admit it? What effect do you think it has had on you?

I had help growing up with money here and there, but I was basically adopted out to my relatives and my mother was always off traipsing around the world working.
So I didn't really get to know her up until about the last 2 years of her life and we couldn't have been more different, she was very liberal and generous... I'm conservative and terrible :D But I did ditch my career at the time to look after her up until her death, which meant that out of all my immediate family I inherited the majority of her will and as a result I've not spoken to my half sister or step father in about 6-7 years.
It did leave a legacy which I've been able to build on over the years with a lot of hard work and that did change my life for the better.
