speaking of which, what's the verdict on the Storm? |
For a BB it is sick, but I still have an utter disdain for them. |

ing hell send me one too! :p $400USD is cheap compared to the $1000USD that it will go for otherwise. |
The £200 price tag is subject to the £20 (normally £35) a month 12 month contract ;) |

Java sucks, they have a clumbsy interface, the keyboards (especially any based off the 8300 and 8800 series) suck, and the network performance blows on the data side. An 8703e (the staple for businesses) with an EVDO connection had slower load times for a website than my old phone on EDGE and windows mobile. The list can go on for why I have a disdain for them, but I will end it there.
The reason the storm is sick for a BB, is because it supports a LOT more than all their other devices. It has a touchscreen (something I am reliant on and require now), the new os has more features, it is finally catching up with current generation phones, and they network performance has improved. |

eek.
I've never looked at them before, because of the weird OS and double-lettered keyboards. the latter literally prevented me from even bothering to pick one up or research them at all. the storm, though, is intriguing. |

Yeah it was pretty bad. Again, they have improved it, but it is still as compared to other phones out there. |

Ok, so I was at the Sprint/Verizon stores earlier today.
Looking at getting the Blackberry Curve.
My current phone is 2 year old flip phone and has a very ty version of WAP internet on it. The BB Curve has a decent internet browser (CNN.com loaded a mobile version, but it was pretty capable), and the speed on both networks was pretty good.
So what else is bad about the Blackberry besides internet speed (which like I said, was pretty decent...only took maybe 5 seconds to fully load cnn.com).
What alternatives could I get for around $100 with a contract extension? I'm not going to pay much more than that for a cell phone. They don't last long enough, and they get outdated very quickly, its not worth it. I figure the BB Storm will be a couple hundred bucks at launch so I prob. won't be getting that.
So what else is out there thats comparable to the Curve in the same price range? It's gotten generally good reviews... |

lol just because the phones I would buy are all 300+, doesn't mean I am unaware of less expensive phones.
Do you want candybar or flip? PDA or Smartphone? |

Not much selection of world phones with Verizon when I got this. Didn't want a Crackberry and this was the only other option! |
