Ok, I have no idea whats up with my internet right now...been going on for a couple of days.
Google, Yahoo and Facebook don't want to work on my pc...this is one of the few website that does actually work. When I click on either, it just says "done" in the bottom left corner (on IE and Firefox).
1st, tried my cable in both routers and then tried resetting them.
Then cleared Cache, Cookies Search history ect.
Then ran a virus sweep (Found 10 Trojans :wtf: and a load of data loggers)...cleared the lot away.
I've ran out of ideas...its strange that its both IE and Firefox acting up. I would have simply reinstalled the one that was acting up...but since both of them are doing it...i dunno what to do.
Any help will be great.

Log Back in on SAFE MODE (start;run;msconifg;Boot.ini;"X Safe Boot") and do the virus scan again.
Since you don't have internet, and if you have a filesharing service, download SpyBot (if possible, or get it off a friend via burnCD/flash drive)
also, and this is coming from personal experience as a wanker, if you're router has the ability to go wireless and you never made any security/admin changes, wankers will log in using the default settings and block port80, which prevents IE and firefox from visiting anything.
So did you reset the router by unplugging it or HARD RESET using the paperclip method? |

What is Spybot? And will the Virus scan pick up more in safe mode?
We do have a wireless router...but the nearest house is a good 70 foot away so I don't think they could do that. I done a simple off/on reset. I could try a hard reset but my dads office runs off the same router and his stuff is fine.
EDIT: Hard reset didn't work. |

I've checked the firewall and have beven turned it off completely.
Antivirus programs ran: AdAware 2008, Norton and WinCleaner Pro.
Is it likely its a virus or just some settings changed on the computer??
Yahoo, Google, Msn, Facebook, Ebay and Postsecret all dont work. They either say "done" with nothing loaded or get half way and stop while still saying "loading".
All other websites (other than TA) seem to be running at normal speed...Youtube for example works perfectly. |

open cmd again and run ipconfig /flushdns
Also, go to start>run and copy this in:
notepad %windir%\system32\drivers\etc\hosts
If there is anything in there, make sure that the pages you want are not. If it is basically blank except for 127.0.0.1 then leave it.
Also, start in safe mode with networking and go to http://housecall.trendmicro.com and run the free scanner. :) |

Found the problem by just typing "Search problems" into firefox's troubleshooter.

Using "Exterminate It!" to locate the location of the files and registy keys then removing then manually...I just hope this sorts it all out rather than crash my pc.
