This thread is inspired by tom's nonchalant remark that he has 3 or 400 gigs of music. I thought my 32 gigs was starting to become a lot, granted this is my third computer in 7 years, and all 3 combined might have given me around 70, but 300-400???!! jesus christ tom that's a lot of freakin music. my jaw is still dropped a little.

so im curious, how many gigs of music does everyone else have?

Current stats

Radio Rips = 277 GB ------------ 39,863 tracks
Full Tracks = 484 GB ----------- 38,497 tracks

Total = 761 GB ---------------- 78,360 tracks

Not including about 800 CDs (each with around 10 tracks) I made between the years 2000-2003. So add another 8,000 to that total if it matters :cool:

and that's after I just completed clean up/search for doubles on everything downloaded over the past 6 months.

I have a lot of tracks I have not heard all the way through, but I am slowly getting there. I have cut back on the amount I download so that I can concentrate on more quality than quantity.

How many of you have lost an obscene amount of music due to a computer/hard-drive/ external crashing breaking, or dying? I wish I backed things the whole time I did this. I lost so much music from crashes and HD's breaking

Tom, do you know of any program that would do this for me? I shudder at the thought of doing it by hand.

I probably have somewhere around 80Gs give or take.
