umm... hate to say it.. But Love was where I was at...
Don't get me wrong... people seemed superfriendly, as I generally find at all these parties... everyone is always SMILING :)
Love was packed? umm... were we at the same club?
I was there from 11pm to 1:30am... and it actually got slower...
maybe it crowded up after I left... But... I can't see how this place got PACKED...
I went because of all the plugs on here... But, I found the music too hard..., once again.. BEFORE ANYONE TAKES OFFENSE to it... this is just my opinion... you can hear a CLEAR difference between what I heard last night, and the "trance" music which I generally listen to.
Would you consider the music played last night @Love Trance? I would love to hear your answer to that one... cause if you do, then I ABSOLUTELY have NO IDEA what trance music is... |
no one played trance at Love last night. The closest anyone got was probably Keryn, who played some progressive house, but she went on at 2:00 after you left. And the club did fill up later in the night.
I agree with you though, I wasn't feeling some of the girls in the main room last night. There was some pretty repetative stuff being played for awhile, which I think is what you're referring to. It seemed like there were parts of the night where people would walk into the main room, hang out for a sec, and then go back into the front few rooms, where it was packed all night.
I like that kind of music, but its a little tough to make it work earlier in the night, when the vibe of the room is just starting to materialize. |

| Trance is for children and house is for adults. As I've said before " trance is the 'boy band' of edm". |

umm... I find HOUSE too "repetitive" as someone just mentioned... But, to each his own... |

Thanks for your input in concurring with what I went through last night... It is EXACTLY as you described... As far as the crowd moving from one room to the next... |

haha, well, I don't concur with everything you said. People were most definitely enjoying themselves last night, myself included.
It did take awhile for the vibe in the main room to really get going. I don't think trance music would have done the trick though lol. |

I'm not sure it's completely fair to compare Tiesto at Webster Hall to a Ladies night @ Love. On one hand you have one of the most popular dj's of all time at an enormous, historic venue, with thousands of people going crazy. On the other, you have a fun summer party, with a very wide-spanning kind of music (while no trance was played, you had electro house, tech house, deep house, techno, tribal techno, minimal techno, progressive house, etc), played by some of our favorite locals...and to be fair, Love does generally fill up later on in the night.
That said, I think it's great that you came out and gave something new a try, and this probably falls under the "pleasing some of the people all of the time" category. I wouldn't write off either house or trance at this point, as I'm pretty sure most of us here have shifted genres at one point or another ;) |
