For some reason I've come to love old (pre-1980s) TV and commercials.
They induce a kind of pleasant nostalgia in me even though I wasn't even alive to see them the first time around. I think it's a combination of the music and recording methods used (lots of acoustic guitar and sometimes weird synth sounds recorded on noisy old analog tape), and the washed-out quality of the pictures.
I especially like old '70s and early '80s nature documentaries with their soothing narration and strange music.
Anyone else share this strange affinity? :clown: |

Hey it's Jennypie, I didn't feel like signing out of Frenchie's account.
I'd spank Batman. Robin has the equipment of a 10 year old boy.

they're good but I also love the nu-skool Nat Geo documentaries too, shows like megastructures, seconds from disaster, aircrash investigation, hunter hunted & the like. They often follow a very basic method but are good for learning from.
more on topic, I have to say I'm more a fan of the 1980s stuff itself, Knightrider, the A team, fraggle rock, Rainbow, Sooty, Trapdoor etc but most of that is because it's what I grew up on in the early-mid 80s and at the time when you're not so aware of the other stuff, it's wicked fun. |

For sure! Who else loves Boards of Canada? Easily one of my favorite groups out there, they sound like nothing else. Huge nostalgic feeling anytime I put them on. |

A lot of BoC's music is inspired by the synth music of '70s nature films and documentaries. |
