That was from McCain's spokesman, not me. And, McCain doesn't own 7+ homes. Read for proper context please:
"The McCains have a pre-nuptial agreement that separates their finances. The “homes”, as Barack Obama and his campaign put it, are mostly investment properties in Cindy McCain’s trust. Since John McCain has no involvement in his wife’s business affairs, he would have little knowledge of the assets in her portfolio.
Of course, a couple of these aren’t investment properties. Cindy bought a condo for their daughter, for instance, and she purchased another in La Jolla for an elderly aunt whom she supports. The McCains live primarily in a 6600-square-foot condo in Phoenix and a three-bedroom condo in Arlington when Congress is in session. They also have a Sedona ranch that again is part of Cindy’s portfolio.
No doubt, McCain’s clumsy answer gave Obama room to poke fun at him as rich and out of touch at the same time. However, McCain himself doesn’t own any property and isn’t “rich”, and Cindy and her family earned their money honestly. |
Yes, that is from his spokesman...Who else am I supposed to get info on him from?
Weren't people clamoring for Michelle Obama's tax returns and holdings?
I don't really understand how people consider Cindy and John's holdings as separate. At their tax bracket (his as a minimum for the top, not theirs combined), they're top tier.
BTW, I've read that the Sedona ranch is one of the most expensive properties in Arizona. |

Unfortunately, it's what 1/2 of the people in this country vote on. I know...I know, but just look at McCain's recent poll numbers.
I don't care if he wants to be a new politician, Obama needs to go negative. He's got enough money to balance it with "I will do this" ads, but McCain has done nothing but go negative and it's working. If that's what it takes to win "Independents," this is a no-brainer.
McCain's got so much more of a history of political and personal corruption that it's ridiculous.
Oh, and I know....Rev. Wright, Bill Ayers, Tony Rezko....blah, blah, off...Keating 5, leaving 1st wife on recovery bed for 7 houses, Dubya hug, the list goes on and on. If Obama wanted to open up a negative campaign like I'd like to see, McCain would be ed. He's got enough cash to balance it 50-50 and still match McCain in negativity.
Honestly, has there been 1 McCain ad that hasn't referenced Obama? 1? |
McCain is going to win the election and America deserves him. No one wants a president who thinks long and hard about complicated issues, who understands both sides, who gives nuanced positions and knows things aren't black and white.
People want succinct, simple answers to everything. Nobody cares to get bogged down in specifics or different points of view.
Life begins at conception. We're going to defeat evil. Obama is keeping your gas prices high. Foreign oil. Victory against terrorism.
Its the sad truth. This country is too far down the road to ruin for anyone to wake up now. We've been conditioned for this. |

I know you don't.
Thats our fundamental difference. I feel like we're sliding backwards, I feel like this country could be so much more than it is, so much further ahead, so much better. You think we're still making progress, and that things are mostly fine. Cool. |

And to clarify, at this point Obama is not looking like anything amazing next to McCain imo.
But there are still clear areas where the better choice is obvious. |

Just out of curiosity, do you understand how out of touch this is?
We should allow McCain's press people to lie and expect the General Public to search the IRS for answers? |

yes because McCain's "people" are in bed with the IRS and Congressional records reflect nothing but glowing endorsements about McCain because his people have filtered out everything else. |

lol.. right wing hate radio. I've had the misfortune of listening to Air America... THAT is hate radio. They are always so negative and unhappy too. Radio is driven by the listeners, and there's a reason left wing radio is an utter failure and right wing radio flourishes: people just don't want to listen to pessimism and negativity all day. |

I didn't say that at all, so stop trying to mislead everyone.
I don't know, it seems that the MSM isn't saying the things about McCain that I already knew from 8 years ago...not even counting the BS transitions that we've all seen from him in those 8 years. Jerry Falwell anyone? |
