Mental things that have happened at work.

Yesterday I go into work as normal, go outside for a cig, chat to a few people, and go into the office, chat along the way there sign in grab a coffee go to my desk and start work. Around 9:15 am I'm looking through some invoices then the girl who sits opposite to me comes over she'd just been talking to our supervisor, and she tells me you wait a few minutes all hell is going to break lose outside, I ask why, she says one of the old boys in the warehouse saw a big crate, it had no markings on it for a location so he crowbarred it open, inside there was between 6 - 12 hand grenades, and 10 boxes of Heavy Machine gun rounds. Work errupted the whole warehouse got evacutated, two armed response units were called, aswell as a explosive expert, and about 20 customs and excise officers, it was totally crazy about 25 truck drivers were left stranded, It might sound not to weird to some people, but as you know guns are illegal here so are any ammo, plus at my work theres plenty actually loads of chemicals that could of reacted with that stuff if there was a spillage. What a ing mental day at the office that was.
Anyone else got some crazy work stories? |

an unusual day at work for me is if my computer doesn't crash.

I would of pulled some Pins out of them grenades and run like , at least you wont be going back to work.
and i would of picked up some of them MP5 Machine guns , and go and finish your boss off, then nick his/her car.

Not really a work story, but last year when I was @ school we got reported that there were a carbomb outside our school! The TV, cops, ambulances, firemen, radio, everyone was there, our class was the last evacuated just because our teacher was such a moron and kept us there to study some history! She thought it wasn't that dangerous. Me and my classmate joked that she obviously thought that our class would be evacuted when the blast from the bomb is coming toward us, then it would be a good idéa to run like hell :stongue: :stongue:
Well we got out at last and everyone thougt we were crazy for staying inside the school for so long. ahem..

When i worked part-time at a motor auction (Light & Heavy commercial veichles) I saw a rat which was about the size of a cat, honest to god.
(The place was full of old rubbish trucks that had been stationry for years so I will leave it to your imagination :nervous: |

lol.. reminds me of last semester at school.. there was a bomb threat. I was inside my art room, Life drawing, with a nude model in the room, with some classical music on. then some janitor bursts into the room, with some police officers, and they were like, what on earth are u guys still doing in here?? It was pretty funny, cause our PA system wasnt working, and appearently the school had been evacuated for 30 mins. lol. good thing there wasnt realy a bomb in there or we would be blown up good. |

i used to work at morrisons part time when i was 16 (morrisons is a UK supermarket chain in the north of england). i was on the the trolleys (or carts as you americans call them) every 30 mins i had to go inside and top up the baskets and make sure there was enough. i went in on this one occasion and bent down to organise them a bit, when all of a sudden something really sharp dug into my back. it felt like a big -off knife, i knew straiht away id be inpain for weeks. anyway, i turned round to see what the bloody hell had in hit me. well it turned out to be an eagle!! OMG we never get eagles flying round here ever let alone one INSIDE a supermarket. what had happedn was since it was the summer, all the main doors had been opened since it was so hot, and this eagle had inadvvertantly (sp) flown in.
As a result of this the manager honed some bird experts to come and take care of it. by this time the bird was flying all over the place attacking things in the shop, it looked quite distressed. (note: they never evacuated). anywho, the bird people came and tried for about half an hour to catch it, unsuccessfully one of them pulled out a rifle. i couldnt believe it, peopel were still shopping and it was quite busy! he took aim, and bang! shot the ****** riht in the chest. a few feathers and bits of frosted cereals on the floor later, a very angry owner turned up and got into a scrap with the manager and bird people. by this point id been standing there abiout an hour, then the police came and took statements off of everyone, iv enever heard anythign about it since.
question: isnt it illegal to kill a bird like that?!
oh well thats all i could think of, im sure theres other weird thing that have hhappend to me. |

Aye yeah an Eagle aswell Kestrals and them red buzzards are rare enough, theres probably only about 15 eagles in the UK, their all protected aswell.
Jon I dunno where the hell the grenades and ammo could of come from, we deal with some countries ministries of denfense, but only ship them over computer stuff, and machinary nothing like that, the pigs and the custom agents will find out though. |
