A Queens couple was killed early Tuesday when a teen with no license and high on marijuana sped a Mercedes through a red light and slammed into their car, authorities said.
Ki Kim, 55, and his wife, Hyek Young Kim, 53, didn't stand a chance, police said, as the force of the impact split their Acura in half and killed them instantly.
The suspect, Jacob Chubalashvili, 17, hurt his neck and back, police said, but never lost consciousness and admitted to officers he had been smoking marijuana, law enforcement sources said.
Chubalashvili, of Forest Hills, was admitted to Jamaica Hospital Medical Center in stable condition and has been charged with manslaughter, driving without a license and unauthorized use of vehicle, as he allegedly took a friend's car without permission.
The teen could face additional charges once drug tests on his blood -- a sample of which he agreed to give -- are complete, authorities said.
The 5:40 a.m. crash happened on the eastbound service road of the Grand Central Parkway at 69th Road, an intersection residents have described as dangerous.
The Kims, who live in Kew Gardens, had the green light on 69th Road and were moving through the intersection when Chubalashvili, heading east on the service road, pulled around a car stopped in front of him at the red light, authorities said.
He then sped through the light, smashing into the side of the Acura, which then crashed into a light pole, authorities said. The Kims lived in Forest Hills. The Mercedes belongs to a friend of Chubalashvili, authorities said.

| nothing to do with being high.. the kid was just a dumbass. Usually when people are high they drive all paranoid and the last thing they would do is blow a light. He probably drives the same way sober but he got caught while he was high. |
