There would have been an audience to show it live, obviously not as big as the prime time numbers. ;)
Ideally, what NBC should have done was show the opening ceremonies live on one of their cable channels and then show the replay for the prime time audience.

It's NBC with their usual bull of holding viewers in the US hostage and trying to get really high prime time ratings.
If someone in the US wanted to watch it live, they'd either have to watch a bootleg feed online or if they lived near the Canadian border, watch the CBC feed.

Actually for every bulldozed home, they made new homes will all the amneties for athletes to stay.. and once the olympics is over the government has declared they will be given back to ones who lived there before..

Now I'm upset.....at my mother's place and she has the olympics on and the americans have a black guy in the 4 x 100 m freestyle....come on....that is just rubbing it in everyones face....saying they are so good that they can have a black guy swim for them and they still will win.
and on top of that they have a video about the guy and he says that blacks are three times more likely to drown then any other race.
