How can I get profesional sounding quality?

I have been making trance music on reason for the last two years and although I feel i've gotten a lot better, I always notice that the sound quality in my tracks is never as good as the tracks I listen to from profesional producers. Is the problem that I dont know how to create that profesional sound or that reason isnt enough to create that kind of quality? |

Also if you really have trouble getting a good sound an easy way to improve the sound of a mix is download ozone izotope. make sure your mix is about -3db and then boost it from there. Its easy just select dance preset and click process ;):D |

No, sidechain MUST be used because it's what makes profesional sounds. And moar analog. |

When I first started making tunes they sounded really dry and flat. I didnt have access to exiters and didnt know how to use a compressor etc. So to cheat I would make sure I was happy with my mix and then run it through ozone on dance mastering preset and it sounded wetter and better.
So no not a joke but you took it the wrong way. Im saying if you are a complete beginner just starting out this can help get closer to that sound. Ozone has Harmonic exiters, multiband compression, mastering reverb, master eq's Its a mastering plug in FGS.
So i rushed the last post my advice is. Once you are happy with the levels of your instruments etc and your song is playing below 0db. If you do not know how to manually do the things ozone can do there are some handy pre-sets you can use geared toward trance that will improve the sound. :wtf:
Also by looking at what the presets are for example setting the drum booster pre set which is not right for every drum but you might get an idea of a good place to start with compression etc.
Also getting ozone made me look into aht exiters were and how they were used.
BTW TA's I share your opinion i have songs from 2 years back when i first started and im like OMG no reverb no effects out of key melodies chords that sounded too dissonant etc. Two years on from spending every god damn night in my studio I am getting there. So take their advice and practice.
But i challenge anyone to get an unmastered trance song run it through Ozone with dance master setting and say it sounds worse! |
