Mixers... looking for something different

I finally picked up a pair of CDJ-200s. I had a DJM-3000 but it was sold to fund WMC 08. I'm looking for a 3 or 4 channel mixer in the $300 price range. I'd like to buy used. I want to stay away from Pioneer and try something different. I have considered the Xone:32, Nuo 3, Vestax PVC-275 or the VMC-004... but I'm all ears at this point. I don't need effects and I want a mixer I can grow into. Anyone have an old 3 channel mixer sitting around they want to sell me? Finally, are their any good outlets to buy used gear? I can't find much on ebay .
Thanks guys,
Dan |

honestly hard to find a mixer to grow into for $300... even used..
all the ones you listed are good choices, but the best 3 channel mixer is by far the rane empath... i love the rotary version to death!
maybe you could find it used for 6 or 7 hundred.... :p
as for used gear, try craigslist in your area, sometimes works |

| I think the Ecler Nuo series makes the cheapiest mixes that are quality for the price. Other than that I don't know what to tell you. |

Ya. Just wanted to say that I ended up buying a DJM-400, and I'm really disappointed. There are so many mixers out there that are cheaper than it ($500), and have better audio quality and more functionality (audio outputs). If I were to do it again, I'd buy an ecler nuo. Maybe a Allen and Heath 32. Probably an ecler though.
EDIT: In fact, I'm currently saving up for an Ecler Nuo 4.0 and hoping someone will buy my djm-400 for a decent price. |

| To be specific, if you're looking for a three channel mixer, I'd look int buying the Ecler Nuo 3.0. It runs $525 shipped brand new. You should be able to get it for around $300 used then. Good luck. |

It's been too long. It was the first mixer I ever bought because I used it to get into DJing. So, I didn't know anything about DJing when I bought it and in the first few months I had it. Now I know better.
It's also like it's not the end of the world. It's a good mixer, I just think others are much better. |

| I found a Vestax VMC-004 for CHEAP today, I'm going to take a look at it. I read some reviews, it sounds like a good value, especially at the price I'll get it for. Anyone use one? |

As long as it's in good shape, it is a solid mixer. Have played on them several times both at clubs and with friends, and in general I really think Vestax makes solid mixers - especially for folks on a budget.
I'd say so long as everything works and the price is right, go for it. |
