Let's do this again. Please read slowly.

1. In Tools/Options under Main/Downloads I clicked on "Always ask me where to download files."

Got that?

Okay.

If you need to, read it twice.

So, I go to download a file. As usually, I click "Save as..."

What should happen? I should be asked WHERE to save as. Why? Because I selected "Always ask me where to download files."

What actually happens? Nothing. Absolutely nothing. I am NOT asked where to save the file. Not only am I NOT asked where to save the file, the file doesn't download.

Oh yeah, this is because I'm stupid! Of course.

Oh, and one more thing. Since you obviously, weren't reading or if you read you weren't comprehending other posts, I am not the only person in the world who is having problems with 3.0.1. However, I think we've agreed my installation is corrupt and I just need to uninstall and reinstall.

*ahem*

By the way, is there anyway to change how the urls are displayed in the address bar? I can't stand that double line .

After giving mozilla time to fix problems I've moved over to version 3. It's working fine.

Oh yeah, I forgot about that. That is annoying.

Bookmarks seem fine to me, palm.

I love it, the only time it gives me is when using the new uploader on photobucket. It crashes every time. If I use the old uploader instead then there's no problem.

Google is your friend ;)

* In the address field of Firefox 3.0, type about :config, then
press Enter.
* In the filter field, type browser.urlbar.
* Click on the line with browser.urlbar.matchBehavior, change the
value to 0 (zero).
* Click on the line with browser.urlbar.maxRichResults, change the
value to 0 (zero) also.
* Now exit FireFox and open it again.

I've already found that. All that does is turn off the autocomplete (12 results to 0.) In other words, it hasn't changed the double lines that are displayed to single - It just turns them off completely.

Is it that confusing to deal with it??

Of course it isn't, I just don't like the way it looks. People 'tweak' settings all the time to make things more visually appealing. Wallpapers, themes, icons, etc. Is such a concept really that hard for you to understand?
