Word this is fkd. The really ty thing is that this scene bullshit could very well affect the extent to which Richie and the crowd interact and how well. I can get over the organisers booking the wrong talent to open but not if it adversely affects the main reason I'm going. |
Lance for warm up! |

One of the main problems with shows in Texas especially those put on by Disco is that they don't give a about getting a suitable opener to set the mood properly. And the thing is most headliners do care and pay attention to the opening DJ. So if you have opening DJs who fail to warm up properly and then a headliner who isn't too excited to follow the DJ that was just on you get a poor party.
I'm sure most of these DJs are technically sound, but if you have a progressive house DJ opening for a Techno act or a banging funky house DJ opening for a progressive house act just doesn't vibe properly. |

Well, it's not like Texas is overflowing of quality 'techno' djs. This ain't Berlin, but I get your point. I guess with time, more people will get educated on the genre and so on.
On the other hand, I imagine Disco has a very close-knitted clique of djs that are already signed up to play a season of shows, which is a better way to run a promotion company than dealing with random djs for every artist that comes to town.
I hope it made just a bit of sense. |

Houston has a STRONG techno community so there is no excuse. And yes the nepotism does make sense I do understand that part. Suck the of one of Donnie's local contacts and let them use your up will ensure you get to open shows you don't have any business opening.
Everyone knows that being an opening DJ for actual headliners doesn't mean and will get you nowhere, so all they're really doing is perpetuating the fact that Texas doesn't know how to sort out a proper lineup. |

Any BPitch-owned dj as an opener for Hawtin would seriously turn some heads in this klan-infested state. I bet that's the kind of you see in places like London, Prague, etc...

Ellen Alien isn't that great of a dj and Kiki is decent.
I'd go with Jan Krueger or Bill Patrick for warm ups. |

Awesome, when you do. Go up to him and tell him I said hello and "good luck in Brooknam!"
Great guy, great dj.
