following a devastating depression in 1893, violent labor unrest and robber barons accumulating ungodly sums of money on the back of the working man, william jennings bryan and his populist peeps probably thought the same in 1896. mckinley didn't even need sketchy Diebold voting machines to spank the Dems in that election. |

Well, the people didn't get the idea in 2004, and the fact that Obama is only at 50% (and only recently, this week) shows that not everyone "gets it"... We "get it", and it's baffling to us how others don't, but that's America :( |

yeah the public is being manipulated with
the patriotism slogan over and over and over
again maybe soon the average person will see
thestablishment as nothing more than thembodiment
of the top 1%'s interests latest responsiveness to
gustavs katrina in the face of election year was
contrasting and revealing... |

That'll go well with our stupid nation that doesn't care about what job titles mean, but instead "understand" how insignificant they are. |

The fact that they're using a non-descript job title like "community organizer" to attack Obama. Did you watch the speeches last night?
Maybe this'll help spell it out - http://www.tranceaddict.com/forums/...40&pagenumber=8 |

"from low single digits to almost 100"
how can reps oldie and ms pitbull have the shameless
audacity to run on a promise of change when what they
are promising is a change from the party whose standard
they are bearing… soon expect a drastic vanishing of
republican votes driven by income inequality as unemployment
^ to 5 year highest last week its economic management has
only benefited corporations athe expense of the public in
essence privatizing co’s gains while socializing loses to

It's not at ALL a matter of perspective. Your comment was about the company's most recent quarterly results, not the Company's historic gain over the past 30 years. What you're saying now is like saying someone who went from weighing 8 lbs as a baby, grows to weigh 300 lbs and then loses 30 pounds, didn't really lose much weight because they're really 262 pounds heavier than they were at birth. The market trades on current and future results, not what happened in 1978.
My political views tend to lean left, and yes I do support certain democratic fiscal policies, but you can't fault a NYSE-traded company for making a -ton of money legally. True, their profit was ridiculous this year, but they still lost $64b in market capitalization over the past 12 months...
Just like how shareholders don't have to directly dole out money to companies that operate at a loss, the Company has no responsibility to hand profit back. It can via dividend, share repuchase, non-profit subsidiaries, etc, but it does not HAVE to.
While I do think that a policy to help out those of us with less would benefit everyone, there is a very delicate balance between allowing financial incentives for people to work toward, and encouraging money hording. I'm definitely not smart enough to say where that line should be drawn, but I'm not the one running for office :D |
