I bought Kids and Bully at the same time. Try getting a copy of Ken Park, which makes those two--put together--seem like a Disney flick. And yes, same director, same subject matter.
I'll definitely check it out, thanks man

Of course I'll remember. And 'Kids' was shown to us in grade 9 as part of a guidance course. Don't forget to also check out Gummo!

you guys should watch the movie Bully... same director and done in the same realistic gritty fashion. True story that happened in the 90's in Florida, where some kid was a bully to his best friend who never fought back, until he got a new girlfriend and she convinced him to get a few people together, and conspire to have the guy killed. They were all white trash who got in over their heads and cracked under the pressure after the deed was done. Most of them are in jail for 40 years or life, and one on death row now. Has Nick Stahl as the bully (plays the role disturbingly well), and Brad Renfro (who died last year of a drug overdose in real life), and a couple other's you may recognize. tons of nudity too...lol. Here's a little sample of Nick Stahl being a ing prick in the movie to his best friend:
and if you like bully, be sure to grab Gummo. same director but really ed up(like bully). white trash movie that is flat out....i dont know. i dont even have a word for it. its messed up. there is interview w/ the director on the dvd, he said he was on tussin during most of the filming....that guy is fd up.
edit: disturbing was the word i was looking for

If you haven't seen his book Tulsa you should really check it out. I got to handle the original prints at the HRC in Austin a few years back.
Diggerz go to the HRC and tell them to let you check it out. It is worth it.

watch "Wassup Rockers". same director and 10 times better than kids. i list it as one of my favs on facebook/myspace.
it's about a group of latino skaters from south central L.A. and it's kinda like a documentary style, but it's scripted. it's like a day in their life and they go skating and end up in beverly hills and all this random happens. it really is a great movie i keep meaning to order it on amazon because i want to own it.
